“You think it’s made you stronger, but the truth is, it’s destroyed you.” She trails her mouth over to his ear to whisper, cruel and ruthless, sending a shiver down his spine. “And now I have the faintest suspicion that being ruined is the only thing for you that feels right.”

Signora has been playing him ever since he was on the road to become a Harbinger. A sane person would distance themselves, would get away from the mind games and the emotional manipulation, would leave before her barbs got in too deep to rip out.
But Childe isn’t a sane person.
So he crawls into bed with her.
