Shouto looked up at Izuku and Katsuki. “I can go alone,” he reassured. Both of them, for their own reasons, avoided leaving the neighbourhood so close to the full moon night. Shouto wasn’t too keen on leaving either, but someone had to do that.
“As hell you can,” Katsuki grumbled. “I’m going with you.”
Shouto tilted his head, scanning Katsuki’s face for a moment, and then smiled softly. “Thank you.”

Most nights, he was at least trying to fall asleep — not because he believed it could happen, but because he was a stubborn man. He’d always been. Stubbornness was in his blood, even if his father preferred to call it determination.

That night, he did not try — he just lay on his side of the bed, eyes trained on the ceiling and hands intertwined on his chest. He knew he wouldn’t get any sleep for the next few hours; he needed to wait until dawn and then get some well-deserved rest. He would leave his chamber around noon, but no one would be surprised by that — Shouto’d been here for a long time, and everyone had had more than enough time to get used to his unusual habits.

"Two minutes out," Kirishima confirms, his phone still pressed to his ear. "They said keep doing CPR, don't stop—"

He could’ve–should’ve left Katsuki to wallow in his sorrows alone, and would’ve been justified in that decision. Could have made fun of him too, or gotten angry at Katsuki for contacting him at such an hour. “So I came.”
