Zoey groaned dramatically as she put her phone. “Ugh, I wish I didn't like men. It'd be so much easier.”
“You don't know that.” Mira rolled her eyes. “Some women are clueless, I swear.”
“I don't get how anyways! I mean, they're so lucky and they still fumble it?” She chuckled to herself quietly, her voice getting softer.
“What do you mean lucky?”
Zoey froze, and inhaled deep. “It–it's nothing, nevermind.” Her voice faltered as she spoke, and Mira could tell immediately she was lying.
“No, really. I wanna know what you mean. Like, I think you're aware how fucked it is being gay in Korea.” Mira's arms were crossed, not exactly because she was upset, but more so just trying to see where Zoey was going with this.
“That—that's not what I meant…” she muttered defeatedly. “They're lucky because they're with… you.”

In the aftermath of the Idol Awards, the HUNTR/X girls are ready to return to normalcy. Except that couldn't happen. The girls knew about Rumi's patterns, and as much as they reassured her they did not mind, Rumi could not shake the feeling that she was just going to make everything worse. Like she always did.

It just didn't feel right—didn't feel like she meant it enough. Her mind kept drifting restlessly and she couldn't focus on the words, on what she wanted them to mean.
She took an unsteady breath and started again.
Rumi has lived with rules all her life, rules that only apply to her and don't make sense to anyone else, so it isn't weird that she keeps developing more.
