Summary
“I promise this is real,” Madara murmurs. He shudders at the kiss pressed to his temple, broad hand gently stroking his hair, cradling his head. “I’m here with you now. I won’t ever leave.”
The pounding ache in his skull sinks its claws deeper, vision fuzzy around the edges. He can’t breathe like this. His mouth tastes of grave dirt and ash. His fingers draw tighter. The cloth feels dusty beneath his hands, sand slipping through his fingers, gritty on his skin.
This position is familiar by now. Stuck in a cage of flesh, bone, and sinew that wound its loving arms around him, that rubbed soothing circles on his back. Poison filters through his ears. It’s a slow decay. A controlled fall.
He takes a breath.
“This is never going to end.” It’s an absent-minded remark. A reconciliation of two conflicting halves, however brief. He’s ripped free from the embrace.
There is no happy ending to be had.

Summary
In one world, the samurai never seriously interact with the shinobi clans, and Senju Hashirama and Uchiha Madara are able to found their village.
In another, the Kazanshogun, leader of all the samurai in the Land of Volcanoes, worries about her access to iron. The only iron trade partners she has access to, the Hagoromo, are slowly being wiped out by the Senju, and to protect her interests, she sends contingents of samurai, warships and weapons to bolster the Hagoromo and Uchiha in their war.
With these additions, the Hagoromo are able to weaken the Senju, before the Uchiha and the samurai divisions sent alongside them launch a surprise attack on the main Senju compound. All of the main Senju line are killed, save one. An unfortunate Tobirama suffers from having red eyes. Madara and Izuna are disquieted by his new role in their clan, for different reasons.

“Of course I am,” Itachi says, like Deidara is a bit slow.
“And I’m me from the future,” Deidara continues, feeling a bit hysterical. Whatever Itachi did with the chakra nexus on the forbidden island, it ended with both of them traveling through time. “What the F––,” Deidara yells, and then tries to punch Itachi in the face again.
