Hard to take until the later part of the series but it's worth reading them to see how it turns out! Characters are real, fit canon...mostly, but the veer-offs are very good. Also what I've suspected all along 'bout some characters...

Summary
Thor can see Coulson arranging things behind his eyes. Loki is never an easy subject on which to report.
“I think he needs a hug.”
This surprises a laugh from Thor. “Ah, brother Coulson, if only it were that simple.”
Coulson’s eyes narrow, and fine lines fan out around them. His amusement is of a dark kind. “I don’t think hugging Loki is very simple,” he objects. “He’s kind of stabby.”
The human race is as messy and unruly as ever. Soldiers soldier, assassins wait in shadows, the apocalypse makes paperwork, and some spooks are spookier than they expected.
