Edelgard crossed her arms, unimpressed. "And I suppose this is a self-assigned title,"
"Not at all. I've left many a beautiful woman swooning in my wake," Claude winked at her, and she shook her head.
"Show me," Edelgard commanded, coolly. "I'd like to see you try to make me swoon."
Claude's confident smile faltered. He had planned for Edelgard to brush off his teasing, not call his bluff. "Perhaps I should. After all, how will you rule the hearts of your people if you have never experienced true romance?"

When Mercedes returned to her room that evening, she was startled to find it engulfed in a sea of rolling, perfumed blooms. Roses covered every surface, piled halfway up the walls and completely burying her bed.
Constance rushed in from the corridor she was lurking in, looking both apologetic and amazed at her spell's results. "Mercedes, I am so sorry! I had wanted to thank you with a few roses."
Mercedes began to laugh at the absurdity of the situation. "Constance, how in the world will we clean up this mess? What are you even thanking me for?"
