Summary
“Fine,” Welt said, lying back down. Despite his initial trepidations about the setting, once he was within the confines of a warm bed, it was hard to summon the urge to do anything other than attempt to get cozy. Much to Welt’s surprise, however, he felt a weight join him on the mattress. When he turned to look, he was met with the sight of the Void Archives diligently trying to crawl under his duvet.
“Don’t look at me like that,” they said almost instantaneously, voice high-strung and defensive. It was clear their idea of ‘going to bed’ was a pale imitation of the human instinct, because they had forgotten half of the underlying social rules behind it. Welt cringed at the feeling of cold shoes against his bare calf.
The Void Archives is initially gifted a solitary room on the Express, just like any other passenger. They don’t seem to like it very much, sometimes.
(Or: How, on and off, Welt Yang has to share a bed with a Divine Key, and he doesn't actually hate it.)Series

Alive- so why can't Phainon stop having vivid nightmares of spilled golden blood, a wound to the back incapable of healing-
Of Mydei laying lifeless on the council grounds?
(Or, Phainon starts having horrifyingly visceral nightmares of a past unfamiliar to him, and slowly begins to piece together that there is something more nefarious lurking behind both the Flame Reaver and Amphoreus than the Chrysos Heirs originally imagined.)

Summary
New staff wasn’t anything unusual. This place chewed up and spat people out on a weekly basis. Every other week, someone would quit mid-shift, and a new face would show up in their spot in the next.
Phainon was the longest-running staff member there, as far as he knew. Not that it was a badge of honor or anything.
But something about this chef felt different.
It wasn’t just the way he cooked or how clean he kept his station. It was how things felt around him. No clatter, no yelling, no banging pots. Just the soft rhythm of knives hitting the board, pans shifting on the burner, and the sound of a guy who knew exactly what he was doing, like he belonged in a kitchen more than the rest of them.
