Summary
Standing tall in the city of Yokohama lies Mayoi Inu Gakuen, a prestigious College full of literary geniuses. What stroll through the corridors of this dynamic building are multiple unique groups of friends and/or acquaintances, who bubble together and never mix. Some simply do not engage in opposing group's time, some begin entertaining each other in back-and-fourth arguments and hatred. Therefore, leaving one group to join another results in ultimate betrayal.
With that, imagine how The Port Mafia friendship group felt upon discovering a fellow member abandoned and betrayed them to join their sworn enemies, The Armed Detective Agency, over the school break. Most importantly, how it burned the ferocious flame between member Nakahara Chuuya, and former member Osamu Dazai, even brighter.
Chuuya may have been pleased the boy he wouldn't call his 'friend' in any scenario had finally left their group, but the fact he left to join the group they clash with was extremely insulting.
Eighteen year old Chuuya and Dazai now make it through another hectic year of college while navigating through their messy relationship, including some complications and unintentional group mixing...

'A Little Death', by The Neighbourhood, refers to the French phrase 'La Petite Mort' (the "little death"), which is a poetic euphemism for the sensation of an orgasm. The song uses this as a metaphor for seeking physical connection to escape emotional emptiness and feel human.

“Then tell us, Executive Nakahara Chuuya,” Ranpo said with a light voice when saying Chuuya’s title, “Who are they targeting and why?”
Chuuya didn’t open his mouth to explain, he simply continued staring through Ranpo. Dazai looked at his partner, noting the distant gaze of his eyes, all the tells in his body language that wanted to run, that wanted to fight.
“Or you could tell us why your name was all over every single document we saw, I bet we could piece it together from that.” Ranpo continued, leaning back in his chair.
“Nakahara, all intel should be shared if we have any chance of defeating our shared enemy.” Fukuzawa stated, his voice steady and remained authoritative.
“I am, they're after me."
