Summary
Armand had only ever wanted to be loved, to be handled with gentleness, with hands that sought his pleasure instead of his agony or his wrath. He wanted someone to smooth down the harsh jaggedness of his edges, soften his cut-glass ego with songs of praise and devotion. He wanted to be an altar that someone worshiped at, a vessel for filthy piousness, a giver of absolution if there ever was such a thing. He wanted hot breath and silent conversations and fingers that scratched followed by a tongue that soothed.
He thought he had found something close to it in Louis.
But the self-destructive cycle was always bound to repeat itself. It didn’t matter what his name was, Armand was always going to find himself right back here with blood leaking down the side of his face and an old wound reopening in the center of his chest as Louis walked out of their home, his footsteps echoing long after he had left.
or, the conversation between Armand and Daniel following Louis' departure from the penthouse but before Daniel's turning.

Summary
“Tell me another secret,” Gale whispered, and the entire ballroom and all its inhabitants faded away around him. They disappeared completely along with the music and the chatter. Right now, it was just Gale and Astarion, embracing, hardly swaying. Their faces were so close to each other, and Gale could taste his own want.
Gods, he wanted. He wanted so badly. He’d never wanted anything like this since joining Mystra.
It was such a visceral thing, such a simple thing, and Gale Dekarios tended to stumble in the face of simple, beautiful things.
or, Gale and Astarion are two separate thieves attending Duke Ravenguard's annual ball in the hopes of stealing the same magic artifact.

Summary
“I get it, Cellbo. It’s just… I miss home, man. I miss our routine. I miss simplicity if you can believe that.”
“I’m having trouble,” Cellbit answered playfully, but he was also honest. Roier had been nothing but eager for chaos since Cellbit had known him. He was all fast cars and loud laughter and wind through his hair. He was late nights and bright lights and pounding pulses. It was the thing that Cellbit had fallen in love with all those years ago, but now that he’d worked with Roier as his partner, he had also fallen in love with the calmer side to him, the side that only Cellbit got to see.
Roier might be bustling city evenings and happy hour, but he was also a fireplace crackle. He was the puff of smoke that a candle produces after it’s blown out. He’s a quiet watcher of peaceful mornings, and he was Cellbit’s best friend.
or, Roier and Cellbit are art thieves. They are also in love.
