“You know it’s too early. We haven’t unlocked a large enough range of your emotions. You won’t be able to bear it if your first approach with sorrow and guilt happens with taking the life of someone you care about.”
Mark grimaced despite himself before speaking, swallowing down to ease the tightness of his throat.
“It doesn’t matter.” he scoffed. “Every emotion I’m unlocking is just another string holding me back even more from being able to kill him.”
Or, Mark has betrayed the Heart, and no one but his former partner is sent after him to kill him.
