Between the divorce, the jet lag, and the sheer exhaustion of his job, Oscar’s grip on his sanity is hanging by a thread. The last thing he needs is to listen to the guy in the next hotel room moaning through the drywall every night and wrecking his sleep schedule.
Oscar hates having to hear it. He hates how hard it makes him.
When he finally sees who’s responsible for the wrecked sounds, he has to do a double-take. Curly hair. Shifty, green eyes. He quickly realizes two things. One, he can’t look away. Two, his sleep schedule is about to get considerably worse.

A chill ran through the room, a soft brush of wind against his bare skin making the little hairs on his neck stand up. Shadows seemed to swirl around him, dancing on the walls of the room despite the harsh light of the ceiling lamp.
Lando held his breath, eyes wide as he watched a human figure appear in the middle of the pentagram, cloaked in shadows and thick fog, that was slowly beginning to thin out.There were dark horns wounding out of its skull, several centimetres long and razor sharp. He also had a better view of its wings now, sitting folded up against its back. He could make out the shape of them, a black mass of dense feathers protruding from behind it. With a stutter he noted the demon, and it was definitely a demon, bore an uncanny resemblance to-

Oscar Piastri says may I before he touches anything. He makes coffee exactly right without ever having asked. He once corrected a lighting rig in a way that made an entire production team turn around slowly, and he will not explain how he knows that, or where he's from, or what's in his wallet.
Lando has eleven weeks, a world tour, a stalker who signs off with love, and a bodyguard who keeps a small black notebook he won't let anyone read.
One of the people in his life is lying to him.

Also: Oh, Canada! Another disastrous Sunday, but Oscar and Lando have the consolation-prize routine down to a science.
Plus: The Monaco curse strikes. Lando attempts to cope in the healthiest way possible: denial, deflection and kissing Oscar senseless.
This: Silverstone =
mediocrity draped in neon.Oscar draped in neon.And: Lady Luck goes AWOL (again) in Spa. Oscar takes fate into h̶i̶s̶ o̶w̶n̶ Lando's hands.
Finally: Hungary delivers McLaren's first win, Oscar's third DNF, and Lando's millionth foot-in-mouth moment. Somehow, things work out okay.

Despite his disdain for this man, Lando's heart flutters every time the man comes near him. Sweet Lando realizes that he might also enjoy the darkness that comes with Oscar Piastri, but he knows better than to get involved with a man like this.

Something finally clicked for Lando. Sure, Lando was aware of the growing vampire population– both in the general public and people in motorsports– their existence hasn’t been a secret for a long while. Lando had to force himself not to come to the conclusion like Bella from Twilight– fast, strong, pale, ice-cold skin, and it dawned that he had never seen Oscar eat anything other than Tim Tams. And, now, the most obvious: the way his eyes were reflecting red like a cat in the spotlight, and the small glimpse of fangs Lando saw as he spoke.
