Summary
“Wait,” Will said in a harsh, croaky voice. He felt like his brain was dribbling out of his ears and he fell onto the couch with a small poof of air as he stared at Mike in such a hard daze that it was a wonder he didn’t pass out again. “I - what do you - “
They stared at each other.
The air was thick and suddenly it was like Will could taste ozone at the back of his tongue, like electricity was coating his mouth and didn’t leave any room to breathe, to think, and his voice was wobbly, uncertain, as he said, “what do you mean… other boys?”
***
Will tells everybody about his Tammy.
Mike, of course, reacts in a totally normal way.

Summary
Will and Mike watch Dead Poets Society together and it is slightly world shattering for the former, so he writes a fanfiction of Neil Perry and Todd Anderson getting their happy ending. Will reads it in the morning and draws fanart for it, and when Mike wakes they parallel Mike's fanfiction, but with a little less 'implications'.
Mike's 'rewrite' of the ending of the film is absolutely included; Todd saves Neil and they run away together!

Summary
The voice came out overtly snarky, in a way that was far too recognizable. “Well, not your landlord, clearly.”
Will could have dropped the phone. “Mike?”
Mike’s voice on the other line hesitated this time. “Yeah. It’s me.”
OR:
The year is 1994. The gates to the Upside Down closed nearly seven years ago. Jane Byers-Hopper sacrificed herself seven years ago. Will Byers is a jaded and overworked painter living in New York City, and has not been in Hawkins since graduation, back in ‘89.
That was, until, he receives a call from an old friend about fulfilling a promise made back in 1987; to finish their D&D campaign that they'd started in the midst of the war. Seven years of night terrors begin to bleed into his own reality as he returns home, and Will is forced to face the music that he has been running from for as long as he can remember.

Summary
“Well, maybe not, Lucas says, rolling his eyes, “but I know that worrying isn’t going to do shit for Will.”
“Funny — I could say the same thing about Max,” Mike retorts.
A scowl forms on Lucas’s face, and he goes tense, like he’s bracing himself for a full-fledged fight. “That’s different,” he starts to say.
Then, suddenly, he stops.
It’s as if someone has clicked the PAUSE button on a television, and Mike watches as his best friend goes still. Recognition flashes across Lucas’s face, and his brow furrows as he looks up, meeting Mike’s eyes. And though he doesn’t say anything, Mike can tell the exact moment when it clicks.
“Oh, shit,” Lucas breathes.
Or:
In the aftermath of Will's newly unlocked powers and Max's escape from Camazotz, Mike confides in Lucas about his newly realized feelings for Will.

Summary
Will’s voice trails off, and he runs a hand over his face. Mike waits a few moments to see if he’ll say anything else, but when Will doesn’t, he takes a shaky breath and tries to find his own courage.
“And you thought, what?” Mike whispers. “That - that it wouldn’t mean as much to me if it came from you?”
Will flinches. He’s still turned away from Mike, and there’s a desperation in his voice when he whispers back, “Mike, please…”
Or:
After returning to the Wheeler house, Mike finds out the truth about Will’s painting.
