Summary
He tries to tell himself that he asked for this. I begged to come along, he repeats again and again as one finger after the other begins to unstick from the frozen cliff before him. He can feel the wind threading its long, tired hands through his hair, a gentle beckoning to the abyss below, and it almost seems peaceful, like he could fall for thousands of miles and land in the comfort of his own bed, with his favorite quilt tucked to his chin. But as he slips, as that final finger gives way and the beat of his heart chokes against his ribs, the tune changes. With every second that passes, the hand grips his hair tighter, nails slicing into his scalp until his body lurches from the pain. He falls faster and faster as it pulls, until a laugh is drawn from the last breaths wedged in the back of his lungs. The fastest kid in the West, falling to the fastest death. It's funny, he thinks, then his back collides with something solid and proud. After that, he doesn't think at all.
(A Wild West AU that focuses on Wally and Artemis, with all the other characters making appearances. Will generally follow the events of the show.)

when kk starts a stupid argument about who, hypothetically, would last longer on love island, she and paige jokingly sign up for the upcoming season, laughing hysterically because the odds of either of them, glaringly obvious lesbians, getting selected are negative three. but when paige- stubborn to a fault and nothing if not committed to the bit- actually somehow slips through the cracks and makes it on the godforsaken show, she finds herself in a bikini on national television, trying halfheartedly to win a 100k. it's a free trip to fiji if nothing else, and she expects to last a maximum of 72 hours before everyone figures out she's a big fat homosexual. the existence of azzi fudd decreases that estimation down to a mere 2 hours. and increases paige's general odds of drowning herself in the pool they're not actually supposed to swim in.

there’s silence on the other side of the phone for a second, as katie processes how to respond. and then her mom must hate her or something because all she says in response is “honey, only you can answer that question. but i think that if you’re asking me, then you already know.”
and, well, she’s right. and isn’t that just fucking awesome.
aka azzi realizes (with some gentle prodding) midway through her rookie wnba season that maybe she and paige were more than friends and she just didn't know it. except they haven't talked in more than a year. cue a mini crashout and some major life re-evaluation. and a lot of wine.

Isobel stares past the pale blur of Aylin’s face, up to the moonlit sky. It has taken her a month’s worth of learning how to feel something bordering on human, and still she feels wholly undeserving of Selûne’s grace. If she cannot expel the rot within her, then what use is she next to a demigod? It is as though death has done little more than affirm whatever anxieties had swelled within her even before things had gone to utter shit.
Aylin, an untouchable star blazing through the sky; Isobel, who rests six feet below the cold earth. Father always did claim they were galaxies apart from one another. Now, she wonders if he was right all along.
