Summary
“Do we embarrass you? Do our differing bodies hurt your little eyes?” That was definitely a sneer.
“Why you-! I have no qualms with you Oakenshield, but do not begin to comprehend the ways in which I feel!” Bilbo’s fists clenched hard enough to whiten his knuckles. He hated the way his voice cracked towards the end, but this dwarf had no right. No right to say such things, when he had been nothing but polite and kind to these people!
The dwarf gave a short pause before giving a great sigh and settling on the riverbank beside him.
“It is not us that you are embarrassed by, is it Master Baggins?”

Summary
n a quiet night, while the Company sleeps, Bilbo hums to himself before softly singing the dwarves’ own song—“Misty Mountains.” Only this time, he adds a final verse of his own, one filled with hope, triumph, and homecoming. What he doesn’t realize is the Company is awake and listening. And what follows is something none of them will ever forget.

Summary
Bedsharing is common sense amongst the dwarves. Heating the cold stone of Ered Luin is difficult and resource intensive, not to mention sleeping with kin is considered a marker of safety and closeness.
Sometimes, despite their penchant for producing hoards of faunts, even hobbit couples don't share beds, especially in the upper class families. It's common sense. Your spouse might snore or wake up for breakfast earlier than you. Sleeping with friends or family once you're no longer the youngest of faunts? Unheard of, and odder than Rudagar's rutabaga-shaped back mole besides.
Or: Bilbo is very confused, and the company doesn't understand and insists.

Summary
After Molly gently, socially pins Caleb against the wall, he figures things between them are settled. Being scolded is never fun, but sometimes people need a bit of a nudge in the right direction, that's all. And Molly is very good at reading people. Caleb is fine, surely.
After certain details come to light—like how Caleb was not, in fact, skimming off the top at all—Molly does his best to rectify the situation.
Or: A wizard and a tiefling walk into a magic shop.
