Summary
Late January 2015. Harry's sleep is interrupted by feelings of immense heat and pain, as if his body is trying to reforge itself from the inside. When he awakes the following morning he is very surprised to learn that he has just come into his creature inheritance 16.5 years late. The problem with such a late development: he already has a wife and kids! Well, ex wife as the case may be now.
Join Harry as he has to navigate a new part of the wizarding world and learn to blend his old life with his new, learning some things about himself along the way as old enemies become new friends and old friendships are tested.
Word of warning: this is not your usual creature inheritance fic! Do not expect instant connections although I promise there will be a happy ending.

A few liberties were taken with the creature itself for twist purposes and literary connections in the story.
Prompt: Severus joined the Death Eaters, but went through some sort of creature inheritance the following birthday. Voldy locks him up, visiting irregularly whenever he's bored to curse Severus. He gets fed _______ (something).
Years later, Harry gets locked in the same place and, when rescued by the Order, brings Severus at the same time. -

Summary
Severus Snape, a sailor with Malfoy Shipping, has everything he could have imagined he wanted. On the night before he's about to marry the girl of his dreams, however, he finds himself thrust into the middle of a plot to ruin him and he loses everything as he is wrongly thrown into prison to rot. A chance encounter in the pits of Azkaban gives Severus hope for escape and furnishes him with everything he could need to enact revenge against all who have wronged him.
This is loosely based on the Count of Monte Cristo but I have had to take a lot of liberties with characters which is why its not in with my rewrites.
