  The mountain range stretches out before him. It curves around the flow of a river whose true name has long since been forgotten, and reaches towards the heavens in a desperate, sanctified imitation of grandeur – a giant standing in the shadow of the dwarf, cowering and shivering in the evening wind.

  The locals nicknamed it the “Hand of God”: its earth-formed fingers spread perfectly, symmetrically placed – it leans upwards, weighs heavy on the sky, and in the crevices of holy flesh humanity has found a living.
