My life has LWK been changed by this fic. I genuinely have never read anything as beautiful as this. I’m tearing up writing this because it was so sweet I’m in fucking tears. Dazai and Chuuya are so sweet and I adore their dynamic, omfg. Osamu and Nakahara in the first few chapters honestly have made me reconsider what love should be, because they are so fucking sweet. They kinda acted like am old married couple which makes sense all things considered; I couldn’t piece together how old they were in it, but I assume late 20’s-early 30’s because they wrote it as though their meeting again was years ago (the painting of chuuya during sex being said to be older and less quality). Speaking of that painting, sex being used so gently and as an allegory for their journey was beautiful. I adore it, and honestly I think it fits the two and their dynamics so well. I see often people making Soukoku really kinky, and as hot as I do find that as, it’s just so much more rewarding for them to make love. The two are rough and aggressive, but there is no reason for them to bring that into the bedroom. They act violent with each other but they can be romantic and loving, so I love to see that translated into a fic. They way they realized they wanted to make love together was heartwarming as hell and so fitting. In general, I loved watching them slowly fall in love with each other. Osamu taking on a guiding and almost nurturing role towards Dazai as he showed him the future and his relationship with Nakahara just felt *right*. Dazai as a character (not babyzai in the fic, just his character in the anime) is almost always shown mentoring someone like Atsushi and Akutagawa so to see him while he’s even older doing so for his teenage self was realistic and sweet. Osamu grew so much from how we see him as Dazai, and you can really see it in his improved mental health and, all things considered, extremely healthy relationship with Nakahara. Throughout the fic with Dazai you see him slowly become more and more like his future counterpart in his devotion to Chuuya. In a way you could say his painting abilities are a representation of his change as a person. Osamu and Nakahara remark at Dazais drawings and say he’s improving, and throughout the story he paints during significant points in his life that changed him: when he discovered Nakahara and Osamus relationship/when he fell for Chuuya, when he and Chuuya got together and started dating, when he saw him in Paris, when he painted for the ADA, and of course when they met once again and made love. In all of those moments Dazai was improving his skill by painting as well as developing the personality and behaviors he will inevitably have as Osamu. The same thing likely applies to Chuuya and his poetry but it’s mentioned less than Dazais painting. Either way it shows their change, since when they first got together they were both filled with inspiration for their mediums, and at the end they say they will paint/write for eachother. Okay I’ve used 3,000 characters already and I have no clue how long I’ve been typing this. Anyway this fic has CHANGED me and I adore the characters so much 10/10 I cried multiple times during this and also ig the sex was nice but I was too busy getting emotional to pay attention to the dirty parts that didn’t have romance.

Summary
Prophetic power was one I could have gone without just fine. Even before I was born, snapshots of the future constantly plagued my mind. Paris shooting down Achilles. Alexander the Great’s reign. Joan of Arc’s death. Vincent Van Gogh. Boy, was it confusing when I saw Sombr for the first time.
Anyways, most of those snapshots had been tragedies—which isn’t all that surprising. The Greeks invented tragedy. But it’s safe to say that I had no love for prophecy. Especially not after the whole Python ordeal.
It had been three years since my trials as Lester Papadoupolos. Meg’s fifteenth birthday was coming up soon, and Lityerses had turned “twenty” last week. Georgina had hit the double-digits last month (No, I did not tear up—shut up, Meg). Percy and Annabeth would be finishing their final year of college soon, and Will and Nico would be starting their first. Everything was peaceful.
So imagine my surprise when my beloved Oracle of Delphi possessed me in front of the entire council.
