Marius von Hagen is rooming with Luke Pearce after he gets shot after classes and has no one to look after him while the shooter is on the loose. So in the space of five days, Marius has demolished most of Luke's food and any logical thinking in Luke's brain aside from a desire to cause Marius as much pain as possible. But the mere exposure effect had other plans and Luke found himself enjoying Marius' company...

"Detective Luke Pearce has been assigned by the NXX to attend a dinner party and chat up a young man who may or may not have been entrusted with some knowledge about Heirson’s chemical experimentation. Luke has his identity and disguise all ready—now he just needs to crack open how this man’s ambiguous relationship with a researcher got him all this information. He sits at the table knowing that he can get the guy loose-lipped enough to spill something, but is suddenly taken aback by the sight of a silver-haired figure across the dining hall, dressed to the nines and looking very comfortable.
Dr. Vyn Richter is part of the NXX, too. Why is he here, and why didn’t Luke know he was coming?

Summary
Marius prepares to finally bring the girl of his dreams back to his home. Sure, she has been there plenty of times and knows the opulent decor like the back of her hand at this point, but what separates this time from all the rest is that his family is finally here, finally reunited, finally in one place again to receive them. He can’t wait for them to welcome her into their home.
