For the past two years, Micheal Wheeler hasn't usually let himself feel things.
Obviously, he has feelings. He loves his friends, he likes El, he appreciates his family. But he’s been hiding that feeling for so long that he almost forgot it existed.

Continues immediately after the events of season 5 episode 7. Basically the finale, but written by someone who actually cares about queer representation. Mike did NOT deserve that absolute assassination and I WILL be doing him right.
In other words, a fix-it fic based on my last byler theory on my YouTube channel (@i.dontknowhowtodance, the period is IMPORTANT), in which we get a Mike-central finale where byler is canon. I do want to clarify I only watched the finale once and I refuse to watch it again so I might get some plot points wrong but you guys don't care anyway because no one likes the finale.

“Don’t listen to him,” Mike said desperately. “I would never think you’re repulsive. God, Will, you’re fucking perfect.” He let out a broken laugh.
The rest of the room had faded around him, the others standing behind him disappearing until there was only Will, just as it always had been. Mike and Will. Never one without the other, until the Byers had upped and left for Lenora, and Mike had ruined it all, because that was what Mike did. He ruined things. But Will needed him, and Mike wasn’t going to let himself destroy anything else.

This is very similar to the byler power outage fanfic, and i did get a lot of inspiration from that, so i give partial credits to @lameparties who made the famous fanfic!! Mike (BLESS HIS CUTE CLUELESS LITTLE SOUL) during the 18th month period will is living with the wheelers, there’s a giant snow storm that basically locks them in the house for 5 days they have food, water, light, except the heat keeps malfunctioning and they cant go outside to check their outdoor heater bc they’re snowed in. Or actually Dustin and Lucas are over their house when this happens and all 4 boys have to share one bed, but Dustin and Lucas are like hell no and claim the bed cause mike invited them over in the first place and they had said no cause there was a storm but anyway will being the absolute sweetheart he is offered to sleep on the inflatable mattress with mike, except the mattress was very small and very uncomfortable so they stay up the whole night talking and the next day they’re so exhausted they start flirting with each other without realizing it and dustin and Lucas realize whats happening and try to set them up hehehehhe anyway enjoy it sorry im rambling i promise my grammar and actual storytelling gets better in actual fic

“Why? Why won’t you ever tell me what’s wrong with you?” Carlton’s voice is filled with frustration, and it sounds like nails on a chalkboard to Will.
What is wrong with him. It’s such a loaded question. Why does Will wake up screaming sometimes? Why can’t Will handle the cold? Why are there days when Carlton’s hands on him feel like being kept under water with no way up?
And why can’t Will tell Carlton the truth? How could Will possibly explain it without sounding insane? What is the human translation for being taken and kept in another dimension, violated, and possessed, only to then be violated yet again—
This part of him is something Will is never going to be able to share with anyone else. That nobody would understand.
Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong with you.
“Because you wouldn’t get it.” Will somehow manages to say it without gagging.
And then, Carlton goes in for the kill.
“Oh, but Mike does?”
