Summary
"EDDIE! HI!,” Buck yells. Everyone in the room flinches. Buck clears his throat. “Um. Hi. Good morning,” he whispers. “Nice to see you both here today.”
“In our…kitchen?” Christopher asks.
“Exactly,” Buck agrees. “It’s a nice kitchen. And my favorite guys are in it. Just like…just like normal.”
“Okay,” Christopher shrugs. “I don’t remember you being this weird.”
Or, Buck and Eddie try to keep their new relationship a secret. It doesn't go well.

Summary
Eddie—gulps, looking at him, because Buck doesn’t—he doesn’t look bothered, but he doesn’t look like he’s going to get up and finish the job, either. They’re at a standstill. The air in the room feels less like pops of static and more like a heavy cover of humidity. Their eyes won’t meet.
“Uh,” Eddie manages, pointing to the door. Buck’s eyes are still somewhere past Eddie. “We should get back out there, huh?”
“Yeah,” Buck says.
…or, Buck and Eddie almost kiss. Things go about as well as you would expect them to go.

Summary
“Did you know that kissing is good for you?”
Buck asks the question out of absolutely nowhere, and Eddie blinks as he tries to process the words. To be fair, it’s barely seven in the morning — on their day off, after Eddie’s night on the couch — and he’s yet to have the coffee that typically kicks his brain into action.
Also, what?
“Buck,” he says, rubbing at his eyes. “What?”
Or: Eddie and Buck start platonically kissing.

Summary
How long have you been in love with her?
Is sitting in the air as they laugh, turning to each other like they’ve done something, and dropping the subject entirely in favor of grilling Grant on his upcoming wedding.
How long have you been in love with her?
Is sitting in the air as he blindly grabs for his beer, dragging it to his mouth and downing what’s left in the bottle in one desperate gulp.
How long have you been in love with her?
Is rewording itself, reworking itself, translating itself until it fits;
How long have you been in love with him?

Or, Eddie's in El Paso and suddenly everything makes sense.

Summary
"Eddie," Buck says, low and hurried. "Eddie, you need to breathe. There's nothing wrong with you, okay? There — I can't think of anything about you that is not perfect."
"I can't live in El Paso," Eddie says, and he doesn't know if it's in reply to Buck or just a call for help.
Eddie tries to be the perfect son. Eddie has tried, for years, to be the perfect son, and somehow wearing a pink shirt is failing.
