    It’s August 28th, the start of Illiana McMillin’s senior year at St. Matthew’s Academy. Well, technically, her second senior year, since she had been held back. The only thing getting her through this year is her younger brother, her best friend, and some new, unexpected relationships. The year full of love, hatred, chaos, and surviving is one that is long and hard for everyone in Belleville, even the people who are picture perfect examples of an “ideal child.” The only way to get through it: friendship.
