Summary
Eddie couldn't help but be fascinated by Steve Harrington. Steve, who was worshipped by the students of this school as if he was a Messiah, who played basketball, and had a new girl wrapped around his finger each week. But also Steve who apologizes for his friend's rudeness, who tenses at homophobic insults, and who blushes under Eddie's gaze.
Eddie simply shook his head, and returned to his book, some Cthullu-inspired collection of stories he stole off Wayne's shelf. Somehow, the complexities of Eldritch Horror were easier to understand than Steve Harrington.

Steddie modern high school au where everyone is gay, and there is no upside down. Lots of angst- but a happy ending, I promise :))
TW: Some chapters include lots of internalized (and externalized) homophobia, people’s parents being generally shitty people, descriptions of panic attacks, bullying, and mentions of self harm. I’ll tag each chapter that's applicable. But be safe <3

Summary
Alex had always felt a magnetic pull to Meredith, but it never mattered. She had Derek, and he had Izzie, and then he had Jo- so whatever draw he felt to her didn't matter. Then Cristina left, and he became her person. Then Derek died. Then Jo rejected his proposal. And suddenly all the barriers that had stopped Alex from ever feeling these things were removed.
-
A slight reimagining of Meredith and Alex after Derek's death. I tried to keep many elements as close to canon as possible while pivoting the story to focus on a blooming relationship between Meredith and Alex. Many scenes are pulled directly from/inspired by episodes of Grey's Anatomy.

Summary
"It was like I got so wrapped up in the whole idea of being a boyfriend that I didn’t stop to think about if I actually liked any of it. Maybe I just wanted to be really focused on it so I didn’t have to think about how empty and surface-level it all felt.”
“It?” Will asks quietly.
“You know, all of it. The fights, our conversations, the things we had in common.” Mike finally pauses, hesitating. “Or, maybe I wanted to be really focused on it,” Mike says, slowly now, “so I didn’t have to think about how none of it ever felt empty or surface-level with…”
“With who?”
“With… with you.”While everyone waits around for the world to end, Mike and Will finally have a long-overdue conversation.

Summary
Mike moves in his bed, and Will's eyes stay firmly on the ceiling. "I feel like we barely know each other anymore."
And Will can't argue with that, so he replies, "What do you want to know?"
There’s a long lapse of silence, and then –
“Can you come up here?”
In the wreckage, Mike and Will spend a series of nights together.

Summary
“Yeah,” Mike nods, but it isn’t the most convincing, and he can’t find it in him to care, in the late hour, “I was just – thinking.”
It’s not the most significant outfit, but still. Will looks nice. He’s always looked good in white.
Mike blinks. That’s – weird. That’s a weird thing to think about his best friend.
He effectively turns off his brain.
Will asks, “About what?”
“You,” Mike replies, and maybe turning his brain off was the worst idea he could’ve possibly had at nearly three a.m., Jesus fucking Christ.Mike confronts Will about the painting, and lets a few confessions slip.

Summary
“Are you offended that people think we’re dating?”
“No,” Mike says immediately. “Of course not,” because, again, he should be so lucky.
Will’s baffled expression does not change. “Then why would I be?”
“So– okay, fine, whatever. Should we, like, tell them to get their heads out of their asses and that we’re not– um– dating, or–”
“I think,” Will cuts in, “well. You know what would be funny?”
Honestly, Mike doesn't know what he thought being Will Byers' fake-boyfriend would entail, but he definitely didn't think it would involve this many ugly Christmas sweaters.

Summary
Mike Wheeler is coming apart at the seams.
Home is no longer a place he wants to return to, his friends are slipping out of reach, and the numbness he carries feels heavier than grief ever did. Paired with a lost friend on an English project, Mike is forced into a quiet, uncomfortable proximity with the past he’s been avoiding.
Their time in the library is strained and careful, marked by silences. Mike doesn’t ask the right questions. He doesn’t look too closely at his own unraveling. He just keeps moving, even as the ground beneath him disappears.
As nights grow colder and choices grow more desperate, Mike finds himself pushed farther from home than he ever meant to go. In a town full of ghosts and half-forgotten dreams, two boys circle each other in the aftermath of everything they’ve lost, both convinced it’s safer not to want too much.
Some lights are meant to stay distant. Others refuse to go out
Or
A group project in which Mike and Will are forced to come together.
