Summary
"He wonders, hardly for the first time, if things would have been different if John'd been a woman, or Siobhan a man. If anyone would think any different about them; if anyone would actually believe that Siobhan was his best friend and his feelings were all mixed up about her, but that he never wanted to kiss her."
Because gender's got nothing to do with it, and Elementary has the right idea. A new fic!

Summary
"He's looking at the Periodic Table. There is order in the universe, ultimately: there is always ordinary, and always extraordinary. There will always be low elements, boring ones, low atomic numbers and interest and high importance: for every Noble Gas, there's an ordinary metal. For every stable isotope, something will break. 92 is too high an atomic number to sustain.
Sherlock thinks of his failures, the things he's broken (his fingers once at fifteen years, a bully's nose at uni, hearts, his brain, himself), and wonders if he's going to break apart entirely."
On Sherlock, and chemistry.

Summary
"In a world made up of absences and questions without answers and dry waste under star skies, Sherlock's the only thing that really seems to matter. He brings everything to life. Things are big when you run with Sherlock, the world's at stake when you walk at his side. Everything matters: details, blood stains, small moments of humanity, lies and fights, ashes. Death. Life."
On belief.

the world turns, nothing is ever new (except the adventures and the sound of that heartbeat) by mighty-worm (wyrm_n_sigun)

Summary
"'You're wondering what happened.' Holy shit, he sounds just like John remembers. Deep, calm. It's like nothing ever happened. It's like everything's the same as it had always been. Somehow, that's not okay at all. To collapse time -- to erase the past, erase his pains; that's not okay. Here he stands again, alive, as if things will be the same. As if death can be stared down. "
This fic was mainly conceived because I was imagining a Reichenbach reunion with an emotionally-constipated hug (and drew a picture).

you see the face in the darkness, John Watson, and you hear the unique sounds of woe, Sherlock Holmes, and something in both of you snaps inside and then do you know if you're alive? by mighty-worm (wyrm_n_sigun)

Summary
"There's a chuckle from the stair, and John glances over to realise, to far less of his horror than he might have anticipated, that Lestrade's phone's video settings have now been turned towards nefarious purposes; John can think of at least five situations where that potential blackmail material might come in useful. He does have the grace to spare a twinge of sympathy for Sherlock's dented pride, though he hardly thinks that ego would suffer overlong from it. "
This fic's original title was a fic in which Sherlock is drugged out of his head in ASiB and John’s not taking shit and also I wrote this at four in the morning so I think I really got at some convincing incoherency here, but that seemed like it would just spoil everything.

a fic wherein Sherlock and John are in hospital and are massive bros and it’s obvious that I know nothing about medicine and anyway family is all that we have in the end by mighty-worm (wyrm_n_sigun)

Summary
'We missed you,' Mrs Hudson cooed into John’s hair, which she curiously hadn’t ruffled; she settled for massaging his back with warm palms. 'Sherlock here was worrying himself to death about you.'
'I was not!' Sherlock sounded so thoroughly infantile that his voice jumped an octave on the last syllable. He frowned at it."
This one still has its original title.

Summary
Alternatively titled a fic about Sherlock and John sharing a bed that is actually not slash and I am dead serious. I was fed up with slash and the Cross Keys did-they-or-did-they-not-share-a-room crap in The Hounds of Baskerville, and still heartbroken over The Reichenbach Fall.

Summary
"Sherlock Holmes has been dead for almost three years, and John hardly thinks of him anymore."
Originally called untitled post-Reichenbach thing before the episode airs and kills my headcanon, and it was exactly that. Written January 14 2012, the day before The Reichenbach Fall aired, it was my attempt to preserve my headcanon for posterity. Even after the airing of the episode, this remains pretty canonical, with the obvious exceptions.
New title is inspired by the Child Ballad "Cold Blows the Wind/The Unquiet Grave":
"When will we meet again, dear heart? When will we meet again?/ When the oaken leaves that fall from the trees have grown green, and sprung up again."Series

Summary
Inspired by a popular theory that John's appalling un-badassery in The Blind Banker was due to PTSD or something similar. This isn't necessarily about that, but it is about the poor bastard getting tied up and not coping very well.

Prompted by a post on tumblr about the ill-advised nature of firing guns at walls around war vets.
I'd write their relationship differently, now, but I actually still mostly like this.

Summary
For a prompt: "When Sherlock deems a case that a prospective client contacts him about beneath him, John (figuring that he’s seen Sherlock investigate enough cases to be able to do some amateur deducing himself) offers to take it on in his stead, hoping that it’ll help make him feel like he’s making a difference again. The client agrees. John investigates the case, and solves it. "
This is from late August of 2011, and I wrote it in a week. Despite its... unpolished style of prose and occasionally juvenile dialogue, it still holds a special place in my heart, since at the time I really wasn't sure if I could pull off a whole case fic. It's hardly the best thing I've written nor the longest, but it was probably the most intense and now the most fond.

For a prompt: "John is not Sherlock's first assistant. He's actually had three previous ones, but they never worked out. Who were they (canon characters maybe?) and what happened to them?"
Second Sherlock fic. This is rather lack-lustre, I think, and I'd probably have genderbent Mac if I wrote this now (August 2012). I don't really think this is worth re-posting, but it'd be nice to have all my stuff in one place. This one's for posterity, then. My apologies.

Summary
For a prompt: "Sherlock realizes that he doesn't have it in him to take a human life. He's shocked at this discovery."
My very first Sherlock fic. I guess posting it here in August 2012 is how I throw my fandom babies a birthday party.
