Korra, I’m coming to the South Pole next month.
I know you asked for some space… but you also said you’d only be gone a couple of weeks and that you’d write us back, so forgive me for not taking everything you say at face value.
I do have some legitimate business reasons for visiting, but it would be a lie to say I couldn’t send somebody else if that was all it was. It’s been six months. I want to see you Korra. I hope you let me.

Summary
Long ago, when her bending was lost and her sense of self shattered, Korra attempted to end her own life. Avatar Aang saved her from herself. To show her gratitude, Korra quietly resolved to never think about that day again.
Years later, life is good. The world has settled into an era of peace. Korra feels healthy and stable, and even expects that her girlfriend may soon become her wife.
Then, during a night out with Asami, she stumbles into a suicide attempt in progress. Korra is narrowly able to prevent it, but the event leaves her injured, and deeply shaken. Long-buried feelings come surging to the surface, and as Korra feels herself beginning to unravel, she starts to wonder—did she ever truly leave this part of herself behind?
