He's never been pretty.
Sexy, maybe. Strong. He's got the talent to fight, to defend himself and the people he cares about, he knows how to wield a weapon like it's an extension of his own body, but that's not pretty. It's not even elegant, not really, not the rush in hack-and-slash that wins him his battles. Fighting isn't meant to be pretty. It's supposed to be bloody, and rough. It's supposed to end with one person on the ground, not getting back up; end with someone else moving away to lick their own wounds.
But he feels pretty, with his nails painted.
