Summary
Ben Solo has nothing left to lose when he runs from his life in Coruscant. Aimless wandering leads him to Niima Motel, a bare-bones motel in the buttcrack of Modern America: Jakku.
Rey Niima, the receptionist of the motel, refuses to let go of her past, afraid to even dream of a future beyond the remote town of Jakku, when he shows up at the motel, dishevelled and looking every bit a man on the run.
It's not a surprise to either of them when they fall into each other's orbits.
But nothing good ever lasts forever.

Summary
After a video of a girl playing drums and singing on the side of a trashy desert highway went viral, a small, but growing band managed to stake their claim in the world of “real” music. They signed with a record company led by a seasoned icon and were playing in real venues for the first time. Rey had never been this happy. But with that happiness, things were also spiraling out of control. She couldn’t handle the social media attention, people comparing her to other artists, accusing her of stealing other peoples’ songs, and even finding herself wrapped up in a rivalry with one of the most popular metal bands on the planet as their frontman had a grudge against her producer. Which means she now has a grudge against him and his disgustingly rich, oppressive record label, Empire Records. But at least she has "StarKiller", a mostly anonymous songwriter from an old YouTube channel she loved when she was a teenager. He’s the only person who seems to understand how lonely things are when trying to work through the creative process, but she hasn’t told him that she’s really the lead singer of a growingly popular band.
