    Summary

“Well Alhaitham,” Kaveh said with considerable sarcasm. “I wish you the best of luck with your studies. And your social life. Kusanali only knows how much help you need with that.” He then made his way back to his other group, immediately smiling upon return.

And with that, Alhaitham blissfully continued his study with the addition of his soundproof earpieces to conceal what was quite possibly the most deafening voice he had ever heard.

He should have known from this conversation alone that the blond was akin to a tumultuous sound: blocking out everything else in its vicinity, until it was all anyone could focus on. Until Kaveh was all anyone could focus on. Anyone being Alhaitham, of course.

A chronology of Kaveh and Alhaitham’s time at the Akademiya from the moment they met to the moment they fell apart.

Kaveh was happy. Why wouldn't he be, when he had everything he wanted and could finally be himself again.
But did he really want to go back to being that shell of positivity and happiness he exuded in the past?

It was like the world had expected him to wake up and reoccupy the Kaveh-shaped hole in their lives in exactly the same way he had before, when in reality Kaveh did not quite fit anymore. Something within him had changed, the so-called ‘fundamental shift’ Alhaitham was referring to.

    Summary

    "Senior Kaveh! You're early today."
"Of course, I was the one who asked to meet, how could I be late?" Kaveh said, a smile automatically forming on his own face.
"I don't know, perhaps you got distracted by another fraudster, asking 'Oh Lord Kaveh, will you build me a house'?"
"It was that one time," Kaveh said, his cheeks burning slightly. "You just happened to find me at a bad moment."
"Certainly, certainly," the scholar said, mirth in his eyes, “How could anyone possibly fool the great Light of Kshahrewar?”

There's a visiting scholar following Kaveh around, all smiles and sunshine, and Kaveh finds himself torn between his lingering unrequited feelings for a certain someone and this bold newcomer.

But Kaveh starts to realise something strange- Alhaitham never appears at the same time as the other guy.

    Summary

One day, Kaveh wakes up and finds himself in the past, with the chance to undo the mistakes that made his life miserable.
But he soon realises that not all of it was miserable, and he might have lost a little more than he expected.

“Kaveh,” Alhaitham said, his beautiful scarlet-green eyes staring at him strangely. “Are you alright?”
Kaveh supposed that Alhaitham must have thought that he was crazy for crashing into him then just freezing up. A little defensively, Kaveh replied, averting his eyes, “You shouldn’t read and walk, it’s dangerous.”
Alhaitham raised an eyebrow at him. “Sure,” he said, unperturbed and unaffected like he always used to be.
It broke Kaveh’s heart to see Alhaitham so closed off- nothing like the one that he had left back home, in another time, in a time that would now never be.

(But maybe he was wrong. Maybe it was a time that still could be.)
