Summary
The slick, marbled stairs of the forever-climbing Spire were cold on Pure Vanilla’s feet. Colder, perhaps, than the dough-deep dread flowing through him as he ascended the treacherous tower. He tried to reason with himself: was it truly wrong to trespass, if all he sought was knowledge? He had always walked that path, and prided himself on resisting the prophesied deceit that had long since consumed the source of his borrowed, copied power. He needed to see him. He meant no harm.
And did it count if he wasn’t truly a stranger?

Summary
Instead of the Beast's Souljams being split with their "good" going to the Ancients and their "bad" going to the Beasts, leaving the Beasts with half their power, the Witches duplicated the corrupted Souljams and sent the item back in time to its original form. This, in turn, left the Beasts with full corrupted power and the Ancients with full original power**. The "Ancients" are referred to as the "Virtues," and the "Beasts" are merely the "Fallen Virtues" or the "Old Virtues." The Souljams are a paradoxical item of great power, and if they were to touch, then, well... the universe would break. Many Cookies may be after the power of the Souljams, given their immense capability ...👀
**For example, Dark Cacao would wield the Virtue of Volition rather than the Light of Resolution, while Mystic Flour still wields the (Corrupted yet full) Power of Apathy

He contemplates leaving, but he remembers nothing of how he got here and Pure Vanilla has been dodging the question ever since. So, confined to the castle by his weakened dough and need for answers, Shadow Milk goes searching for the one thing he never thought he would yearn for again,

Summary
Pure Vanilla visits White Lily to talk about his growing feelings for Shadow Milk. She doesn't understand but if he was willing to stand up to all of them and give the Beast a chance to change then she supposes she has no other choice but to support him. Unfortunately for them, her faerie subjects get the wrong idea of why the two Ancients are meeting more frequently and decide to take matters into their own hands.
A potion to bring forth hidden affections given to the one cookie that has some form of love for every single person he's ever known means now White Lily has to try and keep an increasingly cuddly Pure Vanilla from embarrassing himself in front of everyone he crosses paths with. And when Shadow Milk shows up, she needs to keep him from making a mistake that may just drive the jester away for good.
Pure Vanilla is lucky she's always been good at figuring out spell craft... and with an extremely reluctant Shadow Milk's help, maybe they can break this lovestruck haze that her friend is trapped in.
