Movement to the side of Sirius caught his attention as none other than James Potter, Sirius’ real brother, stepped forward. Potter looked calm, but there was an angry tilt to his brows. He clapped his friend on the shoulder, saying, “He’s not lying, it took a week for him to stop shaking from the after effects.”
The ball grew into a tendril that wrapped itself around his lungs, squeezing. Desperately, he looked to Sirius, searching his face for the smallest of hints that the other was joking. Nothing. Regulus let out a quiet keen, but since the hallway was empty, it seemed to echo.
Regulus stumbled, hunching in on himself, muttering and pleading with the universe once more. “No, non, non, non! Ils ont promis, s’il te plaît. Moi, pas lui—ils ont dit—” He broke off into a sob, crashing onto his knees. He vaguely registers Evan and Barty crouching next to him, the two of them murmuring reassurances, but his brain is pure static. He erratically rocks back-and-forth, muttering to himself and the universe, unsure what he’s saying.

Regulus let out a quiet laugh and looked at James with a soft gaze, taking a soft breath. “Because people have not been kind to me,” he admitted with a soft shrug.or, Sirius and Regulus both escape 12 Grimmauld Place and live with the Potter's until they graduate Hogwarts. Living with the Potter's helps Regulus get closer to the family and build a friendship with James Potter. A friendship that could be so much more

Sirius goes home for Christmas break and is put under the influence of Walburga's imperius curse so that he may please the Dark Lord when it is time to be tested. Regulus is scared the curse is doing long-term damage to his brain, and the marauders just want to know what's going on.
