There were times, when Xie Lian would be eating a dessert, and notice no one else was, which did not trouble him at first– and then he’d look to his side, at Mu Qing, and ask: “Don’t you want some, Mu Qing?” The disciples around stared like hyenas. “I’m not hungry,” Mu Qing would assure. To that, Xie Lian would announce, suddenly, in retort: “Well, I’m not hungry either. And anyway, it’s too sweet.” Then he’d abandon it half-eaten, grasping his attendant’s hand and leaving the hall.
xie lian wishes to give another cup. mu qing is in charge of the tea set.

He finds Shi Qingxuan nearby the river, leaning on a wall of an abandoned temple. They look like they are dozing off, but as soon as Xie Lian appears in front of them, they open their eyes; bright as always, but perhaps bright with delirium rather than excitement. Still, that has to count for something.
“Shi Qingxuan! You’re alive.”
“Ah, your highness… You see, that’s a funny story,” they say, but there is no humour in their voice.
shi qingxuan is missing. xie lian relearns a certain truth about leaving.

Summary
The view shifts when Batman stands up. From this angle, the brightness of the city lights makes it possible to distinguish the outlines. Jason’s eyes are closed, and his head lulls backward, as if he was asleep. But there are wet streaks on his cheeks and his lips open and close slightly, soundlessly. There must be another movement too; perhaps he squeezes Batman’s hand, or attempts at a kick, because Batman readjusts his grip and says: “Shh. We’re going home. We’re going home.” Everything twice.
To the side, something glints in the darkness; a familiar shape, all sharp.
Dick pauses.
He rewinds the recording.
dick is welcomed back in gotham by his not-quite-dead brother and his father's refusal to share the report of a night from weeks prior.

But from the moment she first saw him, she was only getting to it closer and closer. Mothers don’t have an easy way out of their children's pain. And when she stood in that alley, and a strange boy got in between one of the League’s assassins and her, foolishly trying to protect someone much deadlier than himself, it was already decided.
She stared at the inconspicuous figure in front of her. Wet, curly hair sticking to the forehead, a white shirt hanging from the protruding, skinny shoulders. Unmoving. Vigilant.
She extended her hand in his direction, not expecting the decisive grab of warm, rough fingers.
Sometimes fate has other ways than tragedies.

Summary
Jason dreads the moment when Bruce starts talking. He’s probably trying to figure out the angle, sorting through his internal spreadsheets. They’re going to analyse the past year in as few words as possible, or discuss the treatment, to give Jason the illusion that he has any control over it. Or maybe they will get back to the topic of how Bruce simply cannot do what Jason wants him to; the judge, jury, and executioner lecture that Jason never really needed, because deep down he knows that his cries and requests were selfish. Childish, even.
But the silence stretches. It starts feeling more like peace.
“I love you,” Bruce says, and that’s not code for anything.
jason does (not) have a plan. semantics are a problem.

he could play a couple of tricks on bruce. pretend to be a ghost, leave some morbid note, break into his bathroom and write on the mirror with his own blood. or maybe just push every piece of furniture slightly, but far enough that it would make bruce bump into them when he tries to navigate the house in darkness.

"I really need a sword," A'Yuan says, emphasising the word really . Wei Wuxian looks around to find whatever prompted the boy to say this- And there it is, a stall full of wooden toys, swords and other weapons alike.
They can't afford it. They can barely afford vegetables, he could only dream about getting any meat, and toys? Toys are way beyond their budget. If you can even call a couple of well hidden and treasured coins a budget, that is.
He can't explain all of it to A'Yuan, who has no idea about how money works.
He also doesn't feel like teasing him and then comforting the heartbroken child again.
And then he gets an idea.
"Ah, why? But we do have a sword at home."
