ricky makes a face mid crab cake, his nose wrinkling with a shake of his head as he mumbles, “he’s an idiot by the way." he swallows, "for ever thinking he could replace you. he’s obviously stupid.”
gina gracefully ignores that he was mid mouthful when he said it. ricky appreciates it.
“he’s not an idiot. he’s one of the best pilots in the country.” she says with a sigh and ricky scoffs.
“okay, i think that's a little subjective--” ricky tries. gina raises a brow.
“no, i’m serious. he won an award for it and everything. i was there. so was michelle obama.” she says bluntly. ricky pauses at that, rubbing his tongue over his teeth before he’s shrugging.
“okay, so he’s a successful idiot.” his lips quirk into that roguish smile of his as he spans his arms wide, a brow raising as he adds, “my point still stands. a moron to let you go.”

after their individual breakups and years of on and off friendship, ricky and gina decide to team up and take on wedding season together by making a pact to be each other’s plus one to every wedding of the year. however, what they didn’t plan for was the feelings that arise along the way.
