Summary
Lance hates that he has such a deep set need to impress Shiro. He just needs the black paladin to really see him. The real him. Not the Lance that hides behind obnoxious humor to mask his insecurities. But how can someone like Shiro ever spare him more than a passing glance?
Little does Lance know at the same time Shiro himself struggles with the undeniable spark that pulls him to the blue paladin. But a leader shouldn’t have feelings like this. In order to keep himself from doing something he might regret, he distances himself from Lance, leaving the brunet to think himself utterly disposable to Shiro.
Neither of them are really very good at harboring complicated feelings.
