The Swan Prince

Summary:

Three years ago, a spell was cast, and a prince was transformed into a swan. After losing his way in the woods and unable to break the curse, he resigns himself to his fate - becoming a swan by day and resuming his human form by night.

Notes:

This story takes place a month or so after The Witch's Cottage although it alternates between the present and three years ago. You don't need to read The Witch's Cottage, but I highly recommend it for a better understanding of the universe and characters. And also because I hope you'll like that one as well haha ~ I intended this to be only one chapter, but it grew bigger than I expected, so I split it into two parts.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

"Bakugou, I've been meaning to ask. How did you even become cursed?"

Momo and Ochako were seated in Ochako's living room and squeezed together in one of the chairs. On the couch sat Kirishima with Bakugou, currently in his swan state due to the effects of the curse, on his lap. Jirou was in her cat form curled up on the floor in front of the door to the upstairs loft. At the sudden question, everyone looked up at the human girl.

"Huh?" Bakugou frowned, starting to rise and flap his wings. Kirishima attempted to calm the angered swan, and Jirou paced back towards the kitchen, keen on avoiding whatever was about to go down.

"Ah, let's talk about something else!" Ochako suggested. The witch clapped her hands together and gave Momo a pleading look.

"Don't you want to break the curse?" Momo pressed. "Is there some requirement to? Some objective you must complete to go back to normal?"

"You don't think I would have broken it if I could!" Bakugou demanded. He flapped his wings. Kirishima grabbed the swan before he could charge at her.

"But there must have been some reason for it!"

A silence descended over the room. Bakugou had stopped struggling and sat limp in Kirishima's grip. Ochako fidgeted with the hem of her skirt.

"That's true, you never did tell us." Ochako started, her words slow and careful. "Whoever cast the spell on you must have been a very powerful witch indeed, I've been trying to for quite some time, and the spell has held. I've really done all I can. Momo has a point. If you told us the story behind the curse, I could do more. Track down whoever this witch was and get her to reverse the curse."

"Enchanter, not witch." Bakugou corrected. "And fine. Whatever. I'll tell you."

"Whoa, really?" Kirishima's wolf ears perked up at the swan's words. Bakugou nodded and settled down in his lap. Jirou peeked her head into the room, her ears twitching.

"Bakugou's revealing his story to us?" Mina gasped. The sprite peeked into the room, Tsuyu right behind her. The nymph must have just gotten out of her pond because water dripped from her onto the floor, and Jirou yowled as some fell on her fur. The cat backed away with a glare directed at the couple.

"Not to you." Bakugou grumbled as Mina hopped onto one of the couches and gestured for Tsuyu to join her. As the nymph sat down, Ochako frowned and waved her hand, warming the couch and evaporating the water that dripped onto it.

Mina wrapped her arms around Tsuyu's waist and plopped her head on top of the nymph's. She grinned at Bakugou, and her eyes shone.

"Well, too bad. I wanna hear your fascinating, mysterious past."

Bakugou sighed. He ruffled his feathers and took a deep breath.

"Fine. It all started three years ago..."

-------

There once was a kingdom, no, there still is a kingdom. But back then, there lived a King and a Queen with their son, the Prince.

The King was a good and just ruler. His wife, the Queen, was a powerful and passionate woman. Their domain was located on the eastern edge of the forest separated from the rest of the world by the dense woods on the west side and the ocean on the east side.

In the middle of the kingdom outside the castle was a large and beautiful lake. The lake was famous for its swans. The birds would glide down and land in the lake, their feathers white like snow and beaks golden in color.

But aside from the Swan Lake, the kingdom was famous for its mages and enchanters. The castle enchanters were regarded as the most powerful in the whole domain, and in their ranks, was the high wizard Toshinori.

Being born with magic was not common, but it wasn't rare either. The young Prince, however, had no hint of magic in him. Despite this, he always admired and idolized the enchanters while scorning the common human. His behavior worried his parents, but they could do little to discourage his attitude.

Aside from this, all was peaceful in the kingdom. However...

"Deku." Bakugou sneered. The servant jumped at the prince's voice and spun around to see Bakugou glowering at him.

"Kacchan..."

The boy shifted his feet, hiding the wand behind his back. The prince put his hand on his hip and leaned towards Deku causing him to shrink back. His hand clenched tighter around the smooth wooden stick.

"What's that?" Bakugou demanded. Deku jumped as if he'd been shocked. Bakugou grabbed the boy's arm, and Deku let out a cry as he was jerked forward. Bakugou wrenched the wand out of Deku's hand and inspected it, glaring at the object. "A wand? You're not magical, Deku." He spat out the boy's name.

"Give that back!" Deku demanded. He tried to grab the wand back, and Bakugou held it out of reach. "I am magical. I've used magic before. I'm going to become one of the castle's enchanters just like the wizard Toshinori was."

"Tch, you'll always just be a useless servant." Bakugou scoffed. "You're not magical, and it's better you accept that and focus on your job than deluding yourself." With that, his grip on the wand tightened. Deku let out a gasp as Bakugou snapped the wood in half and dropped it on the floor. The two splintered shards lay on the marble steps of the palace, and Deku fell to his knees, tears brimming in his eyes.

Bakugou started to walk away back towards the castle. He grit his teeth. People like that pissed him off. There were some that were blessed with magic, and then there were others doomed to be regular old powerless humans. And those that were should just stop trying and give it up instead of playing pretend.

He opened the door to the castle when a wild wind whipped around him. Bakugou spun around to see Deku standing, his hair a wild mess due to the force of the gale that'd started up around them.

"What the hell?" Bakugou demanded. The prince shielded his face as the strong breeze slammed into him. He slowly cracked open his eyes to see Deku moving towards him. The boy's eyes glowed green with a strange light. No, his whole body glowed with that light, as if he'd been lit up on fire.

But strangest of all, what chilled Bakugou to the bone, was the wand in his hand. Repaired and made new again, it glowed with that same eerie light.

That...couldn't be. Deku was a useless servant. Deku couldn't use magic. Deku carried around a wand, called himself an enchanter, but he was just a weak and useless human. The wand was broken. Bakugou broke it. It should not be in Deku's hand. It should not be in one piece. And it should certainly not be glowing.

"You always look down on others despite being human yourself. You're not better than me or anyone else despite your position as royalty." Deku snarled. Bakugou shuddered at the loud, cruel voice he'd never heard come out of the meek, quiet boy before. "You're lonely and angry and insecure. If you're so sick of being human all the time, then fine, I'll grant your wish."

Bakugou felt flames engulf him. His insides burned and screamed in pain. He felt his body change shape, twisting and writhing. The light faded, and he collapsed to the ground, breathing hard.

What? What had happened? He lifted his hands to his face and found wings instead. His heart beat quickened. A beak. A long, slender yellowish colored neck. Two webbed feet, not human at all.

Deku had stopped glowing and now looked horrified, all evidence of malice gone from his eyes. His wand dangled between his fingers, limp.

"Kacchan....Kacchan, I'm..."

"Deku!" Bakugou raced at him, hissing and flapping his wings. "What the hell have you done? I'll have the guards exile you! No, I'll kill you!" Deku let out a startled cry and, in a plume of flames, disappeared. Bakugou swatted at the leftover smoke. The swan hissed and spit, anger clawing at him.

He continued this for a few minutes before slumping down on the ground, his wings folded, defeated. Deku had vanished without a trace, and something told him the coward wasn't coming back. Good. He'd peck his eyes out if he did.

What now? He could talk to his parents. Or one of the castle magicians. But would he be able to get past the castle guards without being ushered back into the lake with the other swans? Even if he did make it, would they be able to understand him if he spoke or would he just sound like one of the other dumb, unintelligible birds out there? And more importantly, it'd be humiliating to be seen like this.

Bakugou shook his head. Deku couldn't have gone far. He wasn't even magical, wasn't supposed to be. It was probably some trick of his, and he'd disappeared off into the woods somewhere in Bakugou's confusion and panic. He'd march into the woods, find Deku, and demand he be changed back right away with not another word of this incident.

Bakugou hopped off the steps of the palace, resolved to find Deku, fix this mess, and then kill the servant. Well, maybe not kill. He could settle with exile if the useless brat listened and made it easy for both of them.

He headed towards the woods on the side of the castle. His smaller legs made it harder to cover as much distance. Bakugou flapped his wings and hopped in the air, seeing if he could manage to fly. He got off the ground and then fell on his face with a startled squawk.

Ok, so maybe he couldn't fly then...

Shaking off the failed attempt, he strutted past the rim of the lake and towards the dark and foreboding woods.

--------

"No offense, but you kinda deserved that." Mina said after Bakugou finished his tale. The swan shot her a dirty look.

"This is why I didn't want you to hear. And I totally didn't."

"I've never heard of a Deku before..." Ochako mused. The witch tapped her chin, a contemplative frown on her face.

"I'm guessing you weren't able to find him, then?" Momo asked. Bakugou gave her a deadpan look then sighed.

"I've given up on it. The little bastard vanished into thin air."

"Then why didn't you go back to the kingdom and ask for help?" At this, Bakugou turned away with a sheepish look.

"You see..."

--------

Bakugou shuddered. The trees were much bigger than he remembered. And denser. It was still the afternoon, it shouldn't be that dark out.

He felt small. Defenseless. And he hated it. It didn't help he was pretty sure he'd passed that same tree three times already. The woods wasn't forbidden per se, but most tended to avoid it due to the magical properties it held and the creatures which lived within it, so the chances of being found or finding his way out were scarce.

Bakugou kept heading deeper into the woods, however, brushing the stories he'd heard growing up from his mind. The trees grew thicker, and the air around him grew darker. Every small noise made him fluff up and hiss. When he found Deku, he was definitely killing him. After Deku changed him back, of course.

There was a rustle. Bakugou froze. He drew himself up to his full height and spread his wings.

Do I speak? Or do I stay quiet?

Bakugou's eyes darted around searching for the source of the noise when something tackled him to the ground. He thrashed in their grip and started trying to bite at them.

"What the hell? Unhand me!" He managed to hiss. The heavy weight was released from him, and he whipped around, his whole body trembling from anger and fear.

"Whoa! Sorry, I didn't realize!" A red haired boy was standing there, two wolf ears poking out of his spiked hair. He also had a fluffy tail. Bakugou hissed at the wolf, although his heart thumped in his chest. It was a wolf. Wolves were hunters and killers, and he was screwed, damn it.

"Calm down! No need to panic! I don't eat talking animals. For one, it creeps me out. But also you never know if it's someone similar to me. Like I wouldn't want to do that, it'd be wrong in so many ways." The wolf laughed nervously. Bakugou glared at him, wary but less panicked.

"I'll be on my way, then." He huffed. He started to strut off, but the wolf chased after him.

"Hey, wait! It's not safe for you out here alone."

"I can handle myself."

The wolf got in front of the swan and held out his arms. Bakugou hissed at him earning a sigh from the wolf.

"Look, hear me out. I won't stop you if you really want to go your own way. And I won't pry into whatever business you may have. But you look lost, and these woods are dangerous. Plus, it's getting late. Let me help you at least. Ok?"

Bakugou tilted his head, considering. On one hand, this stranger was a pain in the ass. And a wolf to boot. However, he didn't seem malicious, and the woods did seem to have grown much darker and more tangled.

"Fine. But I won't hesitate to attack you if you do anything funny." The wolf grinned despite Bakugou's threat. He headed off, and Bakugou followed him through the woods. The wolf's strides were longer than his, but he made sure to not leave the swan behind. The whole time he chattered on and on about the woods and some friend of his, probably his girlfriend or whatever, when he suddenly paused.

"I never asked, what's your name?"

"Bakugou."

"I'm Kirishima." The wolf grinned. "Oh, we're here." Before them stood a cave. Bakugou followed Kirishima inside. It was small but cozy. There was a pink blanket laid on the floor of the cave, how he'd gotten it Bakugou had no clue, and Kirishima laid down on it. Bakugou plopped down on the wolf's chest and tucked his head into his feathers. Kirishima nodded off to sleep, his arms wrapping around the strange swan who seemed much less aggressive when asleep.

--------

A few hours passed when Kirishima felt something heavy on his chest. The wolf opened his eyes and blinked. The swan was gone. Instead there was a boy with blond hair laying on top of him, his eyes closed, Kirishima's arms still wrapped around him, and no shirt on.

Kirishima let out a startled yelp which woke the boy. The boy blinked, looked around confused, looked down, and then a wild grin broke out across his face.

"Yes! I'm back to normal! I'm-"

Kirishima slammed the strange human onto the ground. The boy started screaming and clawed at the wolf's face. Kirishima bared his sharp teeth, his ears folded back.

"Where's Bakugou? What did you do with him?"

"What? I am Bakugou." The boy frowned. He'd stopped screaming and now looked more confused than angered. "Can you get off of me, Kirishima?"

"Bakugou's a swan. You're a human." Kirishima seethed, then frowned. "Wait. You know my name?"

"Kind of hard to forget the guy who just attacked me for the second time in the past twelve hours. And I was cursed." Bakugou snarled. Kirishima blinked. His tail twitched, and he sighed, sitting back. The boy, Bakugou, backed away from him. His eyes flickered to the exit of the cave. However, he sat down across from Kirishima and didn't move. The wolf scratched his neck.

"Sorry about that. So you are Bakugou."

"Damn right."

"But, how did you, er, come to be cursed?"

"That's none of your damn business!" The boy hissed. The wolf laughed, holding his hands up.

"Alright. Fine. I won't pry. Let's just head back to bed, and I'll help you get wherever you need to tomorrow."

"Whatever." Bakugou mumbled. Kirishima shook his head and curled up, wondering what exactly he'd gotten mixed up in.

-------

The next morning, Kirishima awoke to a horrible screeching noise. He jumped up, his fangs bared, and froze as he saw the cursing and sputtering swan.

"What the hell? How did this happen?"

"You're a swan again?" Kirishima frowned. Bakugou slumped. The swan's feathers quivered, and he shot Kirishima a nasty look.

"Figures. It couldn't be that easy, could it?"

Kirishima was silent. The wolf's ear twitched as he ran through his thoughts. Bakugou was cursed. If a witch had cursed him, perhaps one could reverse it as well. And besides, she did owe him a favor.

"I have a friend who can help. She's a witch."

A look of rage and terror crossed the swan's eyes, and he hissed at Kirishima.

"Hell no, I'm not getting mixed up in any more magic."

"Listen, she's a good witch. One who can help." Bakugou was silent. "Trust me on this."

"Fine." He huffed. Kirishima grinned and started to lead the way out of the den towards the witch's cottage. "Can't get much worse than this..." He heard the swan grumble under his breath, and he resisted the urge to laugh.

Bakugou followed Kirishima through the winding woods until they reached a river. The wolf followed along the river, and soon the two reached a bridge.

Perched on the rail of the bridge was a purple cat. It watched them with much too intelligent eyes, and Bakugou shuddered a little. Kirishima pushed open the door of the cottage with not so much as a knock, the sound of bells tinkling as they entered.

"Ochako!"

A brown haired girl dashed into the room. She didn't look like a witch or enchanter of any sort to Bakugou. She had short brown hair and wore a pink dress. If anything, she looked like a normal peasant. He frowned. Was this really Kirishima's witch friend?

"Kirishima! And who's this?" She nodded at Bakugou.

"He's-"

"I'm Bakugou. I'm cursed. Let's get this over with, if you even are a witch." Bakugou snapped. Ochako glared at Kirishima who gave her a nervous laugh, scratching the back of his neck.

"He's still getting used to the whole being cursed deal."

"Uh-huh." She placed a hand on her hip and looked him over. "Well, I can certainly try. But only because Kirishima brought you here."

The witch waved her hand. Bakugou felt a warm feeling in his chest. Light surrounded him, and his heart leapt. Finally. He'd be back to normal. He could return to his kingdom, never see Deku again, and go on with life.

The light and the feeling of warmth faded, and Bakugou frowned because nothing felt different. By the puzzled look on Ochako's face and the worried one on Kirishima's, something told him his suspicions were correct.

"Fuck!" He cursed. He flapped his stupid wings and rounded on Ochako. "It didn't work!"

"Whatever spell it is, it's too powerful for me to do alone. I don't specialize in curses." She threw her hands up in the air.

"Then you're basically useless!" He seethed. Ochako's eye twitched. Kirishima put a hand on her shoulder to soothe the trembling girl and looked down at Bakugou.

"Hey, calm down. Let's try again. Or maybe you can tell us who cursed you? Then Ochako can track them down and-"

But Bakugou had already stormed out of the house. He crossed the bridge without sparing a glance at the weird cat up on the rail and fled into the woods. Stupid Deku, stupid curse, dumb wolf and his useless witch friend who apparently couldn't even lift a spell as small and worthless as this. His thoughts raged in his head, churning like an ocean.

He didn't stop running until he felt out of breath, his legs sore and wings heavy. Bakugou looked around, and his heart sank as he realized he was hopelessly and utterly lost.

He couldn't find his way back to the cottage or even the wolf's den much less his own kingdom.

Damn it...It can't get any worse than this...

There was a low growling noise, and Bakugou leapt out of the way just as a beast leapt out of the tangled woods. It turned around, and he realized it was another wolf, this one with black hair, ears and tail. And, unlike Kirishima, this one didn't look friendly at all.

"What's a swan doing all the way out here? And what's with those feathers?" The creature demanded, his tail lashing. Bakugou's feathers puffed up.

"I'll have you know I'm human."

"Doesn't matter to me." The wolf shrugged. He leapt at Bakugou when a red blur tackled him to the ground. Kirishima pinned the other wolf to the ground, and the two wrestled each other, a mix of fur and teeth.

Bakugou hesitated. He could run. But that'd be cowardly, and besides, he didn't want to leave Kirishima.

The wolf who tried to attacked him threw Kirishima off of him and slashed at Kirishima's face with his claws. Kirishima yelped. Bakugou rushed at the other wolf, pecking at his heels. The wolf snarled. He lunged at Bakugou, and Bakugou scrambled back to escape the snapping jaws.

Kirishima charged the wolf from behind. He struggled to restrain the wolf who fought him and resisted his grip. The wolf twisted and writhed in an attempt to free himself.

"Bakugou!" Kirishima yelled.

"Kirishima, move!" A new voice shouted. Kirishima spun around and threw the wolf in the direction of the newcomer's voice. Bakugou watched as Ochako waved her hand, and the wolf howled in pain as red flames consumed him. He shot them all a withering glare before fleeing.

Bakugou shook his feathers. He looked at Kirishima who was panting and scratched up bad. The wolf gave him a reassuring smile before collapsing.

Ochako helped Kirishima up, and the wolf managed to stand, his legs shaking.

"You alright?"

"I should be asking you that." Bakugou huffed. An uneasy silence passed between them. Ochako looked from Kirishima to Bakugou and sighed, shaking her head.

"Come on, let's return to the cottage."

--------

"And that's basically how we met." Kirishima laughed.

"Bakugou ended up staying with Kirishima, although I promised to look into a cure for the curse." Ochako added. "Which I obviously have not been able to find as of yet."

"Why not true love's kiss?"

At Momo's suggestion, an awkward silence descended over the room. Kirishima flushed red and looked away. Mina stifled a giggle while Tsuyu managed to keep a straight face. Jirou started to head out of the room again. Bakugou arched his neck and stretched his wings in an aggressive manner. Kirishima placed a hand on the swan's back in an attempt to calm him, but this only seemed to aggravate the swan further.

"Isn't that how curses tend to be broken in fairy tales? Your case in particular sounds like one meant to teach a lesson - a lesson about learning to care for others. Whether or not Deku intended that, the events surrounding the curse greatly resemble those sorts of tales."

"It's a...sensitive topic." Ochako whispered to Momo. Her eyes glanced around the room as if worried. "One we're better not bringing up."

"But aren't those two dating?" Momo gestured at Kirishima and Bakugou. "I don't understand why you two don't at least try it to break the curse. Honestly, I'm shocked it hasn't been broken already."

"Oh shit." Mina whispered. The girl's eyes were wide, but there was a hint of glee in them.

"That's..." Ochako started. She glanced over at Kirishima for help, but the wolf look flustered. His face had turned red, and his ears were sticking straight up.

"W-We're not dating."

"Even though everyone thinks they should just get together already!" Mina shot back, throwing her hands in the air. Bakugou hopped out of Kirishima's lap and headed out of the room without a backwards glance. The wolf's ears drooped, but he didn't chase after the swan.

"I'm gonna go talk to him." Momo declared. She stood, and Ochako grabbed her wrist.

"Wait. I-I don't know if that's a good idea." The two girls' eyes met, and an unspoken conversation passed between them. Ochako released Momo's wrist, and the girl stalked out after Bakugou leaving the others behind.

"Good luck..." Jirou murmured from her place on the counter as Momo passed through the kitchen and into the front room. She pushed open the door to the cottage and found the swan perched on the edge of the wishing well right outside. He glowered at her as she approached and sat down. Momo wrapped her arms around her knees, and she leaned back against the stone base of the well.

"I apologize for misinterpreting the situation."

"I highly doubt that's all you came out here to say." Bakugou hissed. Momo sighed.

"Listen, I'm new to this whole thing. But I'm well read, and from what it seems, the way to break the curse would be the opposite of what caused it - love."

"Hmph. Well, then I'm screwed."

"I'd argue with that, but I'm not really in the mood to get my eyes pecked out." Momo said hearing the hiss rising in Bakugou's throat. "Regardless, you care for Kirishima. A lot."

Bakugou shifted uncomfortably from one foot to the other. He rustled his feathers and sighed.

"It's...complicated..." He mumbled.

"What about the enchanter, then? This Deku person?"

"What about him?" Bakugou demanded, his feathers fluffing up.

"Let's try to find him! There's gotta be a way, somehow. If you refuse this method, then let's hunt him down instead and force him to reverse the curse. What does he look like? How old is he?"

"Tch, didn't I tell you I'd given up on finding him? There's no way we'd be able to track him down. He's probably changed his name anyway. And even if we did find him, I doubt he'd be willing to help."

"Well then, what's the harm in telling me?" Momo folded her arms over her chest and shot the swan a challenging look. Bakugou sighed.

"Whatever. His name's Midoriya Izuku." Bakugou spat out the name like poison, and Momo leapt up. He squawked and nearly toppled into the well as she whirled around. Her eyes shone with excitement.

"Midoriya Izuku?" She repeated. Bakugou frowned at the sudden shift in demeanor of the girl.

"Don't make me repeat it." He scoffed and shrieked as she lifted him up.

"I know a Midoriya Izuku! In the town where I live!"

"You're kidding." Bakugou deadpanned as she tucked him under her shoulder and threw open Ochako's door with her other hand. "No way. I refuse to believe it. There's no fucking way Ochako's new human girlfriend happens to live in the same village as fucking Deku."

"Ochako! Guys!" Ochako had moved next to a dejected looking Kirishima on the couch and was whispering something to him. She looked up as Momo charged in with an angry looking Bakugou under her arm. "I know Midoriya!"

"Who's Midoriya?" Mina frowned, tapping her chin.

"Izuku. Deku. Whatever!"

"How do you know him?" Ochako asked. She sound shocked and a little wary.

"He's a human in the village. Or, well, I always thought he was a human, but I guess not."

"He might as well be." Bakugou scoffed.

"Since you're cursed he's obviously not just a human!" Sang Mina, and Bakugou snapped at the sprite. She only laughed, running her hands through Tsuyu's hair.

"Let's go find him, then!" Kirishima jumped off the couch. He'd been silent up until then, but a fierce determination shone in his eyes.

"I wanna go congratulate the person strong enough to curse Bakugou and prevent Ochako from breaking the spell!" Mina cheered. "Come on, Tsuyu!" The two leapt off the couch. Jirou poked her head into the room, no doubt intrigued by the excitement.

"Hold on!" Everyone froze at Ochako's voice. The witch had sprung up from her seat. "Look, I'm all for this. But let's all calm down a second. This is a human village we're talking about, we can't all go storming in there."

"That's right." Momo nodded. "I'll go. Ochako, you should come, too. And of course, Bakugou."

"I'm going." Kirishima interjected, and Momo nodded.

"I was gonna suggest that. As long as you put on a cloak to hide your ears and tail, that's fine."

"Why can't I go?" Mina whined.

"Tsuyu can't go that far from that pond, she'll need someone to keep her company."

"That's true." Tsuyu nodded and nudged Mina with her shoulder.

"Plus, I need someone to look after the cottage and Jirou." Ochako added to Momo's comment. Mina sighed, falling back on the couch. Tsuyu sat down next to her and patted her head, ruffling the sprite's fluffy pink hair.

"Jirou, take care of the cottage and Mina for me." Ochako scratched the cat behind the ears earning a loud protest from Mina as the small group left.

--------

Momo led them back through the forest and to the village. Ochako walked alongside her. The witch kept looking around and fidgeting with her hands, almost nervous. Kirishima and Bakugou were both strangely silent. The wolf wore a long cloak over him covering his ears and tail. Momo had suggested someone carry Bakugou, but the swan protested, and no one felt like fighting him on it.

Ochako's eyes widened as they entered the town, and Momo tugged on the witch's arm, a small smile on her face, to grab her attention. Kirishima's eyes shone with excitement although he seemed a bit on edge with all the people around and the lack of trees. Bakugou acted as if he owned the place, strutting beside the small group.

Momo led them past the rows of quaint houses and shops towards the far end of the town. She waved at a few people and greeted them with nod or a smile.

"You're popular." Ochako whispered to her with a small giggle. Momo laughed at this.

"I suppose."

"You don't think you could show me your house sometime?" Ochako asked, gazing around at the little cottages as if trying to guess which one was hers. A small smile tugged at Momo's lips.

"Of course. Once this is all settled."

She stopped at a small house isolated from the others. There was a small vegetable garden planted outside with carrots and lettuce growing. The house seemed to be kept in good shape, although some of the white paint had started to peel.

Momo climbed the steps to the front door and knocked on it. There was a pause where no one answered.

"Are you sure this is the place?" Ochako frowned.

"Positive." Momo prepared to knock again. Bakugou shifted from one foot to the other. His feathers rustled, and he glanced back towards the rest of the town before back at the small house.

"I swear if this doesn't work..." He muttered as Momo rapped on the front door. It swung open, and she let out a startled cry, backing up.

"I'm so sorry!" A loud voice exclaimed. Whoever it was reached out to help her regain her balance. Momo looked up to see a tall boy wearing a cloak and glasses. He looked around at the group and froze as he saw Ochako. His eyes lit up.

"Ochako?"

"Iida!" She exclaimed.

"Iida, who's that?" A new voice asked. The door swung open wider as a smaller green haired boy appeared at his side. Bakugou's eyes narrowed, and he let out a low hiss. The green haired boy gasped at the sight of the swan. Fear and astonishment swan in his eyes.

"Kacchan?"
