twenty kisses with kacchan

Summary:

Twenty drabbles based on a prompt list on tumblr.

Notes:

Apparently this is my OTP, who knew
Anyway I have no idea how sporadically I'm going to update this, so hold onto your pants
they also might not all be as long as this one
like i'll have a minimum of 100 words but this one was on the longer side for a drabble

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: First Kiss

Chapter Text

They’re kids when they hear about some girl in the neighborhood who ran right up to a boy, told him she loved him, and kissed him. Right on the mouth . All the other kids who hear about it are stunned or grossed out or fascinated, and it becomes the talk of the neighborhood for quite some time. Katsuki’s circle is no exception, and they all talk about how they’re going to tease the boy the next time they see him.

Well, everyone except Izuku, but he’s usually on the receiving end of their teasing, and even if he’s relieved that they aren’t picking on him, he isn’t going to join in and assist them in picking on something else. Why he still tags along with them, he doesn’t know, but he’s always followed Katsuki around. That’s just how it is.

When the group splits up to go home, done playing for the day, Izuku is still tagging along behind Katsuki. They’ve always walked home together, and Izuku remembers the times when they were really little, and had to hold hands to cross the street. Sometimes he misses the days when Katsuki was still nice to him, and didn’t charge ahead, claiming he didn’t need to be walked home anyway.

At least this evening, he looks back over his shoulder and says, “Isn’t it so gross?”

“What?”

“The girl! The kiss! Stupid Deku, we’ve been talking about it all day! Isn’t it weird?”

“I don’t know...I mean, it’s kind of sweet, that she likes him,” Izuku mumbles, not really sure what he’s saying.

“You’re so stupid,” Katsuk says, turning back around and walking a little quicker. “Stop following me!”

“But, Kacchan, your house is before mine! A-and we’ve always walked home together!”

“Whatever, we’re not walking home together, you’re just following me.” He pauses before he says, “What do you mean it’s sweet?”

“I don’t know, I just...isn’t it supposed to be a nice thing? When grown-ups kiss, they don’t think it’s gross or weird.”

“Like you would know!”

They’re getting closer to Katsuki’s house now, which means it’s time to say goodbye for the night. Katsuki will probably deliver his usual lines about not wanting Izuku to follow him and not wanting him to spoil their fun tomorrow, about how he isn’t welcome to play with him anymore. He stands in front of his door, turning to face Izuku, who braces himself for it, and when Katsuki charges at him, he doesn’t know why he doesn’t move. After all, he’s probably about to get shoved to the ground, or kicked in the shin, or something like that.

But Katsuki presses his lips against his, hard and sudden, pulling back just as suddenly, his face completely red as he scowls. “Stupid Deku, I told you it was weird!” He runs inside so fast that Izuku doesn’t have any time to react at all, and then he’s left alone, standing outside Katsuki’s house.

Sighing, he turns to continue toward his own house, since he knows he has to be home soon, and the whole way there, he wonders why he didn’t think it was that weird at all.
