Summary
After the death of god at the hands of one Akira Kurusu the Metaverse has ceased to exist, and the roll of the wild card has been passed on. Akira and his beloved friends have parted ways after returning him home to face his parents triumphantly. Now the group only exist in phone chat as they live their own lives. One day however the group receive a message from Futaba requesting they play a game together so that the distance between them all is not so unbearable, plus she really seemed to love the game. Everyone eventually agrees, which brings a package covered in emoticon squiggles to Akira’s door. With a smirk and the shake of a head he embarks on a journey that will leave him and his world ever changed. During his first outing with Futaba and her helpful guild leader Orca, the three of them find themselves attacked by a strange creature, the latter of which dies in battle to help them escape. At first thinking it was simply some rather over the top roleplaying he shrugs it off, but soon learns the man known as Orca has fallen into a coma, and that this is not a singular incident. That night the once Phantom Theif finds himself once again in the velvet room, with the fate of The World and his own on his shoulders.
