Summary
Akira’s time in interrogation was not pleasant. Physical and mental abuse. Drugs. The thrill of having pulled of faking his death in spite of everything did not erase the wounds, the lingering haziness of his mind, the bone-deep exhaustion. A full night and most of a day of isolated rest in his guardian’s home helped, but was not some instant heal. But he can’t be separated from his team for any longer; so they get to see exactly the shape he’s in. And Sae and Sojiro get to see the interplay.

There is no way Akira healed overnight from that interrogation. So here’s a more emotionally-charged reunion that I would have loved to see, just not from the Phatom Thieves' perspectives.
