Work Text:
Chuuya swears that he has never run so fast in his life before. He doesn’t even pause when he sees the members of the Port Mafia standing at the harbour. It’s only when he sees Dazai at the dock that the anxiety leaves him.
“Dazai!” He calls and a wide grin appears on his partner’s face; that’s what they still are even if Dazai is the boss of the Port Mafia now. He stops in front of him and Dazai looks fine, but Chuuya immediately runs his hands all over him anyway, checking him for any signs of injuries. “Are you hurt?”
“Oh I’m fine, Chuuya,” Dazai says with a chuckle, content to let Chuuya have his way with him until he’s satisfied. “The message was maybe worded a bit wrongly.”
Chuuya pauses and his eyes narrow before he folds his arm and gives Dazai an unimpressed stare.
“On your orders, boss?”
“Aw, Chuuya, don’t be like that. You know I hate it when you call me that.”
“You better explain why you lied to me right now. I thought you were hurt, you fucking bastard.”
A fond smile crosses Dazai’s face and it’s unfair that it’s so hard to stay mad at him like this. Chuuya clicks his tongue anyway. Dazai laughs and takes his hand in his, leading him onto the yacht. Chuuya frowns in confusion as the boat starts to move.
“... Dazai?”
Dazai pulls Chuuya into his arms and presses a kiss against his forehead.
“You work too much, Executive-san.”
Chuuya frowns. “What?”
Dazai laughs. “Take a break, Chuuya.”
“... You arranged this for me?”
“Best boyfriend ever or what?”
Chuuya starts running over a list of things that he has to do by the end of week; he doesn't have time for this, but his thinking is interrupted by Dazai tugging him up onto the deck. He immediately forgets about all that as he stares out at the sea that’s sparkling with the brightness of the sun. It’s a beautiful sight, and he wonders how long it has been since he had set aside some time to breathe. Arms wrap around his waist and he slumps in Dazai’s hold, resting comfortably against his chest. Dazai’s breath brushes against his ear pleasantly as the man chuckles.
“Slug.”
“Mackerel,” Chuuya retorts more for the sake of responding than anything.
He feels Dazai smile against his skin as Dazai tightens his hold on him, and it feels so incredibly comfortable and safe. Reality starts to fall away and all that’s left is him, Dazai and the roar of the water around them. It’s perfect and Chuuya wishes that it could just be like this forever.
He turns around while still in Dazai’s arms and smiles up at the man.
“Thank you,” he says before pecking the other on the lips.
There’s a large grin on Dazai’s face when Chuuya pulls away and that makes happiness soar in his heart as well.
“Anything for you, Chuuya; I’ll do anything for you.”
