Like many years ago, he was looking up into those green eyes.
He didn’t have to look at the rest of his face.
He knew what those eyes read.

Summary
The infirmary was cold. And the walls were white. And the patients were quiet. Like little dandelions growing out of the sidewalk and conversations in a diner; they simply belonged and that was all. Nico on the other hand, did not. It had to be taken into account that Nico was dressed in a bloody tattered Hawaiian button up, covered in blood that most likely wasn’t his, and smelled like he hadn’t showered in weeks. (he hadn’t.) Nico was snow in July and a son of Hades in the infirmary; he simply did not belong and that was all.

“What’s the matter with you, Zag?” Than asks, all but shoving a centaur heart into Zagreus’s hands.
“Chaos offered me a new boon this time,” Zagreus sighs, making an effort not to look at the centaur heart with the dejection of someone who knows it will do him no good. “The cost is that any pain I incur from my wounds will linger even after they heal.”
The creases in Than’s brow do not smooth. “For how long?”
“Ah. Well. I… don’t know.”

Summary
Exhaustion was palpable off the boy who carried gloom and doom like it was an accessory as Will finally got Nico into a cot and began to lifting his typical black shirt. Underneath he could see not just the immediate injury and its attempted healing, but also the thin muscles and pale skin that hinted at prolonged malnutrition as well as lack of sunlight. How this boy wasn't dead already was astounding but he couldn't let himself be awed by him right now, despite the residual crush that whispered in the back of his head. Nico was his patient right now, and that was all that mattered. He needed to heal him. After that, if he might get him to stay, maybe then he could at least try to make him his friend.
