The more relationships expand in Class 1-A (plus their two outsiders), the more the class becomes the subject of talk throughout the school. People often wonder who will get drawn into one of the relationships next, especially since the two larger ones recently linked up. However, before something like that happens, Tsuyu has it in her head to link the groups up a little more.
Well, it’s not that linking them up is her explicit intention; she’s interested in two other girls in her class simply because she is. She’s grown to understand her feelings more and more since she first began dating Fumikage, and she’s grown to understand her interactions with others better. Not only that, but the more people begin entering relationships, the more casual it all feels, and it seems less risky to put yourself out there.
Therefore, after she feels secure in her relationship with Fumikage, Izuku, and Ochako, she talks with the three of them about her interest in other girls in their class. “Do you think it would be okay if I asked them out?”
“You know I don’t mind,” Fumikage replies.
“Same here,” Izuku agrees with a smile.
“Ooh, I wondered if you liked either of them! Can’t believe it’s both! Let me know how it goes, okay?” asks Ochako.
Tsuyu is glad to have their support, and lets them know before she asks Mina and Toru to meet with her after school. Under most circumstances, she would ask them both separately, but she has her suspicions regarding even their relationship with one another, and she wants to see if she can make things work out better with all three of them together.
The girls in her class are all a rather close knit group of friends, but she knows that Mina and Toru are a bit closer than most, and she considers herself close with both of them. She knows that she likes them, and wants to know if they like each other as well. It isn’t until after she’s decided to pursue them that she realizes that, if either she or Mina were to start to date Toru, that would connect her group to the other relationship in the class.

“Alright, Tsuyu, fess up,” is the first thing that Mina says. “We both know you’re up to something, so there’s no point dodging the subject!”
“Yeah, we’re onto you!” Toru adds, and Tsuyu can imagine a determined nod, even though she has no head to attribute it to. “So, what did you want to see us for?”
“I guess there’s no point in making small talk if you’re both already onto me,” Tsuyu replies, deciding that being blunt is the best option here. “I was wondering if you guys wanted to try dating.”
“ Oh ,” says Mina, her eyes widening. “You know, I kind of thought it might be something like that, but I wasn’t sure you’d come out and ask right away.”
“I guess the whole multiple partners thing is becoming kind of common in our class, huh?” asks Toru. “I mean, I’ve got less than some of you , but…”
“Hey, now!” Mina protests. “I’m only dating Denki, as of right now, you know. Just because we had a pretty big group doesn’t mean anything.”
“It was pretty hard to tell with you guys, that’s all!”
Tsuyu watches the two of them go back and forth before she speaks up and says, “I’m not trying to assume anything, but I did think that there might be something between us. Not just with me, but between you guys, all of us.”
“It does get easier to do stuff like this, doesn’t it?” Mina wonders aloud. “Not that I have that much experience, since, like I said, I’m only dating Denki, but…”
“Well, I’ve just been busy trying to figure out if my boyfriends are dating each other too, or just me, so I haven’t really been observing much,” Toru replies. “But...it does feel easier.”
“So, does that mean…?”
“You guys are both great!” Toru says enthusiastically. “I mean, I guess everyone in the class is amazing in some way, but I’ve always really admired both of you. You’re both amazing, and stand out a lot, in really different ways. I’m kind of jealous of that, but I admire it a lot too.”
“I don’t really think I stand out all the much,” says Tsuyu, though she’s flattered by the other girl’s words. To her, Toru is a lot more memorable, but then, maybe she’s just being modest.
“You may not be loud, and you may kind of give off this air of keeping to yourself, but you’re actually really involved with everyone! You’re not shy at all, and I bet everyone thinks you’re amazing,” she replies. “And Mina? Oh, man, where do I even start with you?”
“You’re going to make me blush!” Mina protests. “But I agree with her, Tsuyu, you’re really more amazing than you think. Both of you are, honestly!”
Right now, Tsuyu feels the most like blushing, which isn’t something that happens often. Even in situations like this, she is usually able to keep a very level head, but perhaps being flattered by two girls at once is too much for her. Whatever the case, she tries to at least remain calm externally, and she says, “Thank you both...I really do admire both of you a lot, and if we all feel this way about each other, I guess that kind of settles it, huh?”
“I’ll have to talk to Denki, and I’m sure Toru will have to talk to her boys about it, but if that all pans out then yes! Yes, definitely!” Mina exclaims. “Ooh, this is all really exciting. I’ve kinda wanted to try this for a while, but I didn’t know if it would be weird or not. All of this group dating stuff, or whatever it is...it gets complicated!”
“I know what you mean,” Toru says with a soft sigh. “I’ve known that Rikido and Mashirao liked each other for a while, but you wouldn’t believe how long it took for us to go from it being them sharing me and all three of us officially dating.”
“I’ve kept things as simple as I can,” she replies, “but there’s someone I’ve kind of thought I’d end up with a while now, and I still haven’t done anything about that. Sort of like how I didn’t do anything about either of you, I guess! Tsuyu must just be good at getting down to business!”
“I always had trouble making friends,” Tsuyu says. “I just didn’t fit in very well, and I wanted things to be different, so I’ve tried to understand people as much as I can. I guess that’s made me pretty good at approaching people.”
“Well, it’s really paid off. I might need some tips!” Toru says.
“Same here,” Mina agrees. “I might want to talk to you before I talk to the guy...speaking of which...this is only a little bit unrelated, but if Ochako seems interested, let me know!” Toru laughs, and Mina says, “I’m serious! What, just because I’ve only been with Denki for a while means I can’t start branching out now?”
It’s true that they’re branching out more, and the already bizarre relationship continues to grow.
