Work Text:
Peter is five, and runs into his father's arms as school let's out. "Papa!" A little six year old Peter says to his father Stephen.
"Yes, hello Peter, how was school today?" Stephen asks him as they climb into the back of Tony's car, the roof pulled back so the sun shines on them warmly. Their son starts babbling on about school and how much he's learning and that he's very smart, like Dad and Papa, and Uncle Steve and Uncle Bucky and the rest of them back at the tower- or home, as they've learned to call it.
They arrive home and all clamber out of the vehicle, when Peter notices a cut on Tony's right hand. He gasps softly and quickly goes to grab for it.
"Ah-ah, that's daddy's sore hand little man." Tony reprimands him, and Peter puffs out his cheeks like an angry chipmunk.
"I know that dad! I can heal you!" Peter says boldly, puffing out his chest proudly, making the two men share a look of amusement.
"And how can you do that little one?" Stephen asks him smiling, amused.
Peter looks up at Stephen and then back to Tony and grabs his hand gently, and rests it carefully on his messy wind-lashed hair. Tony hides a grimace and Peter starts to sing softly.
"Flower gleam and glow," His voice cracks but he keeps going, a look of fierce concentration on his face. "Let your power shine, make the clock reverse, bring back what once was mine." He sings slowly and finishes the rest of the song and lets go of his dad's hand, smiling happily up at both of them.
"Thanks Underoos, I'm good as new." Tony says, ruffling the boy's hair. They both had the song memorised by now, the amount of times their son had watched that movie, they could probably reenact the whole movie without a script.

It's Peter's seventh birthday and his whole family is in the Dining Room (Apart from Stephen who's getting the ice-cream cake out of the freezer) to celebrate his day.
Tony pets Peter's head twice and goes to join his husband in the kitchen. Everyone is excited, the house is exploding with loud chatter and noise.
Then, the lights dim (thanks FRIDAY) and Stephen and Tony come out holding a large ice-cream cake with seven candles sticking out of it. They all begin to sing "Happy Birthday to You" in (more or less) harmony.
Peter is grinning ear-to-ear and as they finish up their song, Peter blows out the candles. They all cheer and clap as some take photos and Tony gives him a kiss on his temple before ruffling his hair playfully.
Stephen gets out a knife and lets Peter make the first cut. "Careful not to cut yourself!" Steve says worriedly, making Tony send him an amused smirk. "He'll be fine grandma," Tony replies playfully, making the others laugh.
Peter takes the knife and cuts down into the cake, biting his lip as he struggles, but he does it, and everyone cheers and claps again.
Stephen then takes the knife from him but its stuck in the ice-cream and he tugs at it a bit, Tony quickly pulls Peter away from it and Stephen pulls it out with a final yank. He hisses in pain and carefully sets down the knife on the table as he puts pressure on his finger. Peter makes a distressed noise and Tony lifts him up and hands him over to Natasha with a worried smile as he accompanies his husband in the kitchen once more.
"Did P-Papa cut himself?" Peter asks his Aunt with a wobbly bottom lip. Natasha instantly caves for her favourite little boy and gives him a warm smile.
"It's okay маленький, it is just a small cut, Stephen will be okay." She soothes. Peter seems to lighten up at her words but still wriggles in her hold to get down. She lets him go and he runs off into the kitchen to his fathers.
"Dad! Is Papa okay?" The little boy asks, holding onto his dad's pants leg.
Tony smiles down at him and nods, "Yeah, Papa's okay, it's just a small cut." And Stephen shows him the finger with a band-aid wrapped around it. "See, all better."
They all walk back out into the dining room, Tony bringing a new knife that's clean, but Peter pulls Stephen to stop by the back of his shirt.
Stephen turns around and kneels down in front of his son, "What is it Peter?"
Peter looks at the other wearily and they're all looking at him confused. Then Peter leans in and whispers something in Stephen's ear.
His father smiles adoringly and huffs out a laugh. "It's okay Peter you don't have to, I'm all better now." Stephen explains, tucking a strand of hair behind Peter's ear.
"I do!" He insists, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Alright alright, go ahead Pete."
Peter takes a deep breath before he puts Stephen's hand in his hair and starts singing.
The others are surprised by his song and Clint starts recording as Tony smirks and cuts the cake into pieces for everyone.
The song ends and everyone starts cheering and clapping and Peter looks down at his shoes, embarrassed.
"Thank you Peter, my finger doesn't even hurt anymore!" Stephen says with a grin and gives Peter a hug, lifting him up into his arms.
"Alright, now who want's cake?"

Peter is nine and a half when he hears Bucky awake at midnight. He gets out of bed and follows the yellow lights on the floor, courtesy of FRIDAY, to the kitchen. His Uncle is standing by the sink, drinking a glass of water and aspirin.
He grunts in pain and Peter walks over to him silently. "Uncle Bucky?" He asks, making the man choke on his water and he starts coughing violently. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you!"
Bucky finally stops coughing and laughs at the young boy, hes so light on his feet its terrifying.
"What're you doing up kid?" Bucky asks his nephew, an eyebrow raised.
"I heard you walking around and you sounded like you were in pain, is that why you're drinking pain killers?" Peter asks innocently.
Bucky grimaces and sighs. "Yeah, my arms just hurting a little bit. I'm gonna have your dad look at it in the morning, so its okay." He says and ruffles the kid's hair, something they all love to do.
Peter knows it's silly. But they all seem to enjoy it so he hold's Bucky's metal arm in his hair and starts singing softly, making the man chuckle. Peter smiles up at him and continues because it's fun and makes them smile.
After his song is done, Bucky is released and he scoops the kid up into his arms. "Well would ya look at that, my arm doesn't hurt anymore! Can't even feel a thing, thanks kid." He praises and kisses Peter on the cheek, nuzzling him, which makes Peter laugh. He puts Peter back down on the ground, gives him a cup of water and ushers him into the hallway, where the floor is lighting up for him again.
"I hope you can sleep better now Uncle Bucky!" Peter says sincerely, and takes a sip of his water.
"You too kid, now get to bed before your dad wakes up and we get in trouble!" Bucky says with a chuckle. Peter waves goodbye and goes off to his room once again.
He sets down his cup and cuddles into his blanket, finally able to sleep.

Peter is fourteen when he gets bitten by a radioactive spider on a field trip to Stark Industries.
..That was a week ago, and now he's in pain almost every day, he's stronger than ever before and he has the appetite of a starved T-Rex.
Tony and Dr (Uncle) Banner have run tests on him and there's definitely some sort of mutation occurring. But they won't know what it really means until the pain stops and the mutation is complete. So they have to keep tabs on him at all times, to make sure that he's not going to have a heart attack and fall over dead on the floor.
Peter finishes up with his dinner and then goes straight to bed, his fatigue from.. mutating? It was really exhausting.
Tony comes in not five minutes later with a glass of water and some aspirin.
"Drink up kid, you'll rest easier." Tony says handing him the pain killers. Peter chugs them down and shudders with disgust as he takes another sip and lies down on his pillow. His dad strokes his hair silently for a minute or two.
"Flower gleam and glow.. let your power shine.." Comes Tony's soft singing voice. It's husky, and Tony think's that means it sounds bad (it doesn't), but it's familiar. And the song makes him smile as he takes deep breaths.
The song comes to a close but FRIDAY has put on the instrumental very quietly for Peter's sensitive hearing.
"..Thanks Dad... Thanks Fri..." He mumbles snuggling into his pillow. Tony smiles and pulls the blanket up over his son's shoulders.
"Good night Underoos."

Peter is fifteen when the rubble of that building crashes down on him. He knows it's silly but he can't help himself..
He begins to sing the Healing Incantation from Tangled to himself.
It doesn't help. And it just makes him out of breath, but he doesn't stop. He growls at himself.
"C'mon Spider-Man! C'mon Spider-Man!" He chants and continues singing as he struggles to lift the giant rock.
He takes in a large breath and screams out in pain and the final words to the song as he manages to life it off of himself and escape.
Peter's breathing is heavy and erratic but he tries to calm himself down as he begins to run again.
Rapunzel has never let me down, and she won't start now!

Peter is sixteen and a bit when the war is over.
Thanos lies dead on the ground, fallen friends and foes as well. The surviving friends mourn their fallen teammates, friends, families.. And Peter looks around to find his dads.
Stephen sees him and smiles with tears in his eyes as they run and hug each other. "You're alive, you're alive.." Stephen mutters into Peter's neck like a mantra.
Peter nods and replies, "And you're alive too!" And they're both crying and clinging to each other.
After a moment they both seem to notice the missing thing. Or.. Someone.
Peter looks around, scared. His mask has been long since ripped off.
"Dad!" He screams, there are tears on his face from their previous moment, but he's so scared that more are coming.
"Tony!" Stephen yells, he's scared too, but he tries to rein it in for his son's sake.
"Dad-!" And he spots it.
Well..
He spots him.
Time seems to stop.
He sees in the distance, a red metal poking out from a small trench. He's hopeful.
Peter starts running and the others are watching, Stephen closely behind his kid.
As they get nearer, Stephen seems to slow down to a stumbling walk.
Peter keeps running.
They're right next to him now.
Peter kneels down and rips off the face-plate, Tony's eyes are open and lifeless. He takes in a shaky breath as tears flood his face and he screams.
The others look his way and come running, but fall short when they see their nephew, crying on top of a dead Tony Stark. Stephen is crying too as he slowly walks towards them, but stops as Peter rips away at Tony's covered right hand until his skin is showing.
The scar on his palm that Peter "healed" when he was five.
Peter lift's his dad's arm and sets his hand in his messy blondish-brown hair.
He starts to sing.
"Flower gleam and glow..." The others wince and look away, tears filling their eyes for their leader.
"Let your power shine...." Peter sounds desperate, he grasps his hand a little bit harder, but not so much that it would hurt him... if he were alive.
Peter looks towards Stephen as he says the next line, they all know it's coming but that doesn't make it hurt any less.
"Make the clock reverse..." Peter is sobbing now. So is Stephen, who walks closer and falls to his knees besides them.
"Bring back what once was mine..." Steve ducks his head into Bucky's shoulder.
"Heal what has been hurt...." Clint looks up at the sky as the tears fall down his face, his bow is discarded on the ground by their feet.
"Change the fates' design..." Natasha covers her mouth in grief, letting herself be vulnerable for just this moment.
"Save what has been lost.." Rhodes bows his head and bites his lips to keep from making noise as he cries.
"Bring back what once was mine....." Thor and the remaining Guardians give their respect through silent tears and closed eyes, as they remember their friend.
"What once... was... mine..!" Peter looks like a puppy who's human was just hit by a car.
Stephen pulls Peter into his chest and they grieve for their lost husband/father.
It wasn't fair.
Daddy was supposed to smile and say, "Look at that Underoos, like it never even happened!"
He wasn't supposed to leave us.
To leave me.......
...Not like this.
