Work Text:
The coffee maker buzzed and Inko reached for the pot, unable to suppress a yawn as she did so. She filled two mugs, set one on the table, and then sat down to sip the other.
Her mug was bright blue, with the words, “PLUS ULTRA,” emblazoned on it in red and white lettering. It was from a set of novelty All Might brand dishware (Complete with microwaveable plates!) that Izuku had purchased a while back. The other mug was older; one she had made back when she’d taken a pottery class in school, and decorated with sunflowers (very well painted sunflowers, if you asked her). This one sat to the side awaiting its owner.
Inko glanced around the apartment, idly kicking her feet, still in the process of waking up. With early morning sunlight coming in through the window in the living room, and birds tweeting outside, the small apartment had a serene, comfy atmosphere.
She looked down and adjusted the oversized white shirt that she was wearing. The thing fit her like a dress and was terribly comfortable, so much so that she didn’t feel the least bit guilty about having stolen it from her boyfriend.
Speaking of whom, she now heard rustling from down the hall, sounds of someone waking up, and took this as her cue to get up again and start cooking some actual breakfast. As she went to the stove and started heating a pan, she heard floorboards creak as he walked through the doorway and over to the table to retrieve his much needed morning coffee.
“Sleep okay?” she asked, unable to hide a slight teasing tone in her voice. He was always mildly irritated whenever she took his shirt (which had become a frequent occurrence these days) and she loved the overly dramatic glare he would give her whenever he caught her wearing it. It always made her giggle, and he would inevitably end up laughing with her.
This morning, though, was a little different.
“Yep,” he replied, voice warm and relaxed, with not a slight hint in his tone that her wearing his shirt affected him at all. Surprised, Inko turned away from the stove to look at him.
She started laughing almost immediately.
There was Toshinori, all seven feet of him, leaning against the doorframe, loose grip on his mug, dressed in a pink shirt. Her shirt. Her shirt which, while large enough to hang on his frame and billow around his skeletal arms, was too short to accommodate his long torso, and left his navel sticking out as if he was wearing a crop top. This, coupled with a pair of bright yellow pajama pants, and his normally messy blond hair looking even more wild than usual this morning, made him quite the sight to see.
As she giggled at the sight, Toshinori shuffled toward her in slippered feet, a smirk adorning his face.
“You steal my shirt?” he asked between sips of coffee. “I steal yours!”
Inko managed to quell her giggles by the time he reached her and pressed a kiss to her forehead. She looked up at him and hugged his torso, still smiling as he used to his free hand to brush her loose bangs to the side.
“Well,” she said, mischief glinting in her green eyes, “if this is what’s going to happen everytime I take your shirt, then I’m going to keep on doing it. You look adorable!”
He gave her a wide grin. “Do I now?”
“Very much so! Is it comfortable?”
“You know it actually is? If it didn’t leave so much of my scar hanging out, I’d actually consider wearing this out.”
“In that case, maybe I could take you shopping sometime for something that fits a little better. I think you could use a change from just T-shirts and suits.”
“Alright, but no skirts,” he warned.
Inko blinked in confusion. “What? Why not?
“I can’t wear skirts; I don’t have the legs for it.”
“Nonsense,” she admonished, lightly poking him in his exposed belly. “you have good legs! You’d look cute!”
“My legs are all bone. Besides, you’re the one who looks cute in whatever you wear.”
“No, you are!”
“You are!”
Before she could keep arguing, he gave her a quick peck before resting his chin on her head. The two stood there for a moment, free arms holding each other loosely, enjoying each other’s warmth and the aroma of coffee. Before long they started breakfast and had a good time, but they made no rush to get dressed. Eventually they needed to do so, but for now it was nice to just be here, wearing each other’s clothes, with not a worry to be had.
While they discussed their plans for the day, Inko made a mental note to try and convince him to put on at least one skirt when they went clothes shopping. She wanted to see just how cute her boyfriend could get.
