Work Text:
Midousuji hates people. Well, to be more specific, he hates interacting with them.
He hates now they are so loud, desperate to make their pathetic voices heard. He hates now they insist on hugging and touching each other, and he wants to throw up when he sees people doing something as unhygienic as kissing. He hates all of the pathetic social rules they instil, none of which make any since but you have to follow lest you get mocked.
And as Midousuji has never known how to follow these rules (no one ever explains social rules to you; you are expected to know them by default, and maybe neurotypical people really are like that, he doesn’t know), he has been mocked. And he hates them all.
Social interaction is hell, and he avoids it if at all possible. But most days, he has no choice, struggling through school, surrounded by annoying people, and dealing with his bicycle team (he hates teamwork, but he needs these small fry to help him win races). And by the end, he wants to tear his hair out and scream.
But he doesn’t do that, not if he can help it. No, he does what he has always done to calm himself down: he gets on his bicycle. Midousuji rides into the countryside, away from crowded places and noisy, annoying people, the wind roaring in his ears, and he starts to calm down. He rides until his location is utterly deserted, not another human around for miles.
Some people would find such desolate surroundings scary or depressing, but not him; he loves it. He loves being alone, away from all of the people who mock him and annoy him and never understand him.
He sits in the deserted silence, and is finally able to relax.
