Notes:

Some sickly sweet love stuff.

Work Text:

Reigen could tell by the way the sun filtered through the blinds that Serizawa had let him sleep late. He shivered, curling into himself. It was cold without the esper wrapped around him, but he figured his chills might also have to do with the remains of the fever he was all but recovered from. Sitting up, he tugged the blanket tighter around his shoulders, yawning once before sliding out of bed and padding into the kitchen.

“Smells good in here.” Reigen fell against the man’s back, mumbling as he pressed flush against him and buried his face between Serizawa’s shoulder blades to soak up the delicious heat.

“Did you sleep okay?” Reigen heard the sounds of breakfast being made beyond his body and he blinked heavily, nodding into the pajama shirt. “It's Sunday, you can go back to bed if you want.”

“S’cold there, ‘n warm here.” He could feel it more than hear it as Serizawa chuckled at him.

“Okay.” Reigen snaked his fingers underneath the older man's arms, grabbing both ends of the blanket in one hand to free up the other while he peeked over his shoulder to get a good look at the stove. By now he knew that cooking was something of a hobby for Serizawa and he’d become very good at it. Reigen grabbed a spare pair of chopsticks within reach and stirred the dashi broth, privy to another laugh as Serizawa poured more egg in the omelet pan. “What are you doing?”

“M’helping.”

“Ah, keep stirring then,” amusement was laced warmly through his voice as the ingredients tumbled out of a bowl into the hot pan, “gently, don't break the tofu.” A warm hand enveloped his own, showing him how, and the fondness in his tone echoed into Reigen’s chest; he couldn't help smiling into his neck as he kissed it.

“Mm.” Gently, like Serizawa treated him, like he was important, instead of impossible, showing him he was wanted, loved and cared for with every action, every word. This was the perfect indulgence, being taken care of by someone else, someone he hoped he could trust, someone who would be careful with him. Deft fingers plucked the chopsticks from his own, setting them aside with a muted click before switching off the elements. Serizawa turned his head towards Reigen, asking wordlessly for a kiss and he granted it, breaking apart only when the esper spun to face him, to give him a hug of his own, crushing him and the blanket so close and peppering his entire face with soft, slow kisses. There was that smile again, he couldn't keep it away, everything just too good. Serizawa let him go and loaded his arms with dishes, gently pushing him towards the table before reaching into the oven for the fish. He pressed his lips into Reigen’s hair as he set the plates down, sitting next to him and wrapping an arm around his blanketed shoulders.

“Still cold, ‘Taka?” Reigen leaned against Serizawa, cupping his hands around the tea he passed him and shook his head, quietly marveling at the love spread out in front of him. Tears stung his eyes and he turned his face into Serizawa’s neck, brushing a soft kiss against his pulse.

“Just warm enough.”
