Work Text:
Gregory adores his relationship with Raymond; however, he would appreciate it if people would simply leave them alone. People call him gay (he is bisexual, actually) or make inappropriate comments about the age difference in his and Raymond’s relationship, Gregory has just found everyone rather inconsiderate of his relationship.
It comes to a head one day at a crime scene, when he and Raymond find themselves face-to-face with Manfred von Karma. Von Karma has hated Gregory ever since he got him a penalty, and is not afraid to show this hatred openly. Even if that involves antagonising Raymond.
“Ah, I see you have your pet with you, Edgeworth,” von Karma says, smirking.
Raymond glances around, before realising what von Karma meant. “Hey, I’m not a pet. I’m a lawyer-in-training.”
Von Karma ignores Raymond completely. “You know, Edgeworth, I never pegged you for the sort of pervert who would seduce a boy half his age.”
“Yeah, and I’d never’ve pegged you as someone who falsifies evidence!” Raymond snaps.
He realises his mistake the moment the words are out of his mouth, and dashes to hide behind Gregory.
Von Karma snaps his fingers at Raymond, glaring at him. “How dare you speak to a von Karma like that, you insolent child.”
“Mr von Karma, with all due respect, you did just call him a pet and accuse me of being a predator for dating a twenty year old. I find his comment justified.”
Thankfully, von Karma’s detective appears and insists they talk. So the prosecutor leaves them alone.
Bright red and trembling, Raymond smiles. “Uh, sorry about that. I just… had to tell him off, Gregory.”
“No, I understand,” Gregory says. “Still, could you refrain from being so cheeky with von Karma?”
Raymond chuckles and gives Gregory a quick hug. “Sure thing.”
