Chapter Text
Bakugou Katsuki had not been elated about the idea of teaming up and patrolling with Izuku. He did not hate Izuku per se. Contrary to popular belief, he had never hated Midoriya. Now, in their second year at UA and with their relationship mended, he had gotten closer to Midoriya. Still, he wouldn’t willingly spend time with him because being with Izuku seemed to bring out an array of emotions that Bakugou did not want to think about. So, when Midoriya had asked Bakugou to patrol with him he had been blatantly about to say no, but looking at the doe-eyed boy he had been physically unable to. He couldn’t stand the look on his face when he refused, nor the thought of making him feel dejected.
So here he was, listening to Midoriya mumble incoherently, the ash blond boy had been unable to stop the small thought in the back of his head about how that was cute. Of course, as soon as it appeared Bakugou had been pulled from his thoughts by a muffled yet loud scream from in front of him. Looking up Bakugou noticed Izuku had stopped mumbling and was also looking at the huge crowd of people. Both Midoriya and Bakugou gave each other signaling looks before stealthily blending in with the huge crowd- Barely being noticed, other than by a few pairs of observant eyes.
Inside the crowd of people was a 30-year-old woman wearing a large gray sweatshirt which seemed to envelop her. The woman was holding a 5-year-old girl at gunpoint, which revolted both of the heroes’ in training watching from the crowd. A man cries out frozen but reaching out for his daughter in the villain's arms. In the crowd, two pairs of eyes met then chaos ensued. It started with a flash of green electricity, then a series of well-timed explosions. Bakugou launched himself at the woman and girl, however instead of attacking the woman he had grabbed the kid and landed next to the man. The man had then grabbed the kid and hugged her tightly.
Midoriya then launched himself at the woman, first kicking the gun away then grabbing the woman twisting her arms behind her back and using enough power to push her down on her knees. Before he had time to utilize the quirk restriction cuffs a soft yellow light starts emitting from the woman who seemed to be exerting herself. Before he could voice his concerns, the light went from soft to a huge flash of light which encompassed the woman as well as Midoriya.
Bakugou had watched the scene as the light enveloped the green haired boy. “Shit, shit, shit,” he kept muttering to himself like a mantra. As the light faded away the crowd could see the woman laying on the ground looking exhausted barely keeping her eyes open, next to her was a green bundle of clothing similar to Midoriya’s. Rushing to the villain Bakugou restrained her with quirk restriction cuffs then handing her over to the police who had gotten here during the turmoil.
Bakugou then turned his attention to the green bundle of clothes, internally panicking as he reached for the clothes. A familiar face that has plagued both of Bakugou’s dreams and nightmares popped out of the article of clothing. Too shocked to do anything but stare, Bakugou had barely noticed a bright green flash of light from behind him. Noticing the light he hesitantly turned his head towards it to find the 5-year-old girl from before turned into a woman.
“What the fuck?” Bakugou eloquently muttered to himself as he watched the police disband the crowd. Then the paramedics came rushing through first to the woman then to Midoriya.
=====================
At the police station that Bakugou had been escorted to, they explained the situation. It seems the 30-year-old woman had a quirk which gave her the ability to de-age any living being. The color of the light indicates how long the target will be de-aged, green being a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 24 hours. Red would be permanent causing the victim to have to grow out of it. Fortunately, Midoriya’s color had been yellow which signaled about a minimum of 72 hours to a maximum of 2 months. The de-aging also causes loss of memory, essentially reverting them back to a child. Bakugou had also been informed that the kid being held at gunpoint had been the crying man's wife. The woman in the grey sweatshirt had turned her into a child to restrain her easily. The villain had explained her motivation, to begin with, was that the crying man had cheated on her with the other woman. Then after she had found out she had panicked and went to exact her revenge.
After that Bakugou went to the agency they were interning with, to notify them of the dilemma. The agency had called UA and filled them in, while Bakugou had switched back into his civilian clothing. Being the kind gentlemen he was he had also grabbed Izuku’s civilian clothing before he proceeded to the hospital.
“Great. As if a full-sized Deku wasn’t bad enough, now I’m stuck with a fun-sized version,” Bakugou muttered to himself which caused the people around him to give him inquisitive looks.
“What the fuck are you looking at?” He growled at them, at that they all snapped their eyes away from him. “That’s what I thought,” He gruffed out, as he stalked over to the receptionist. “I looking for De-fuck I mean Midoriya Izuku,” The receptionist doesn’t bat an eye at Bakugou’s vulgar language, as she types quickly to find Midoriya’s file. “Midoriya-san’s check-in finished a while ago, so he is in room 205 at the moment,” she said giving Bakugou a polite smile. Nodding he walked away and approached the elevator getting on he clicked #2 which took him to the second floor. Stepping out he swiped his head left and right until he saw room 205 he briskly walked to the door and wrenched it open.
The first thing Bakugou noticed when he looked into the room was a small figure with green hair mounted on its head. The figure appeared to be sleeping on the pristine white hospital bed sheets. Next to the bed stood a man of about 35 years wearing a white lab coat and carry a clipboard on which he wrote on diligently. Looking up he acknowledged Bakugou’s presence and gave him a polite but worn out smile. In which Bakugou responded by walking into the room and closing the door more gently than he had opened it. The doctor seemed to want to say something but did not know Bakugou’s name, ”It’s Bakugou”
“Ah, Bakugou-san, the check-in went well. Midoriya-san showed no physical side effects from the quirk, except for the de-aging, obviously,” The doctor explained. “Mentally, as well, he seemed well, except for the memory loss. Of course, if he exhibits any strange behavior bring him back immediately.” Nodding his head Bakugou stomped his way to Izuku, though he seemed more subdued for him at least.
“Why’s he sleeping?” Bakugou inquired. “Well he did not respond well to the situation kept crying and kicking,” the doctor replied.
Bakugou hummed in response, and, being uncharacteristically gentle, he grabbed Izuku to hold him in his arms. Bakugou was clueless of the face he had when he looked at Midoriya in his arms- it was a mixture of fondness and love. ‘Aah youth’ the doctor thought to himself as he watched the Katsuki walk away holding a fun-sized, sleeping Izuku.
