Summary
Spring rises, and it nearly breaks him.
Izuku goes up to a world too hungry for him — every field waking at once, every tree in bloom — and the season takes more than he has to give. He loses himself on a mountainside with Shouto and wakes in the underworld with no memory of the hours between, left to piece together what happened and what was done for him while he wasn't there to choose.
Like Icelus dragging Spring, everyone has to wrestle with the repercussions.

Disruptive, not because he's quirkless, but because he invalidates so many excuses. He demonstrates that heroism is about the work you do and the people beside you. Not the quirk you were born with.
And a system built on power cannot tolerate proof that it isn't necessary.
Izuku just wants to help his friends become the best heroes they can be.
It's very frustrating that the world keeps making it so difficult.

It lunges at him.
Izuku’s hand clutches the door knob at his back and twists- pulling the door open just as the slime reaches him and stepping to the side. The slime goes sailing past and into the vast hallway beyond.
Izuku closes the door.

Toshinori shifted, his eyes turning glassy as echoes of his voice - and those of seven phantoms - left his bleeding lips, “This boy will make a fine successor.”
The boy turned, having heard the voice of One For All, and rushed to help.
Eight smiled - a gruesome thing, or so Mirai would say - and looked upon the boy as he spoke in rushed words and curses, reddened eyes going wide with dried tears at the sight of his injury-
And- and all Eight could think at that moment was that everything would be alright.
“Have no fear…” His words weighed heavy in his heart, and he saw the boy’s mouth open in horror as his body convulsed in its death throes-
And with one last surge of One For All…
He sunk his bloody fingers into the boy’s mouth-
And smiled, as he felt the last wisps of his Quirk fade away into the boy – and his life with it.
All Might is dead, and the world doesn't know.
Izuku becomes the Ninth Holder of One For All... and he remains blissfully unaware of this for nearly a year.
He doesn't make it to UA.
He becomes a hero anyways.

“Kacchan, when I’m gone, what will you think of the stars?” Deku asks, head turning to look at him, not even surprised to find Katsuki already staring.
Katsuki’s eyes don’t drift from Deku as his bottom lip starts to wobble. “I think I’d hate them for taking you away from me. I don’t think I’d ever be able to look at them again. Even though I’d know you will be up there, I don’t think I could bring myself to do it, Deku,” Katsuki whispers out, voice shaking and threatening to break on him.
“They’re all so pretty, but I don’t like them taking my moon and stars away from me. How could I love the thing that takes you away from me?”
