Josuke, Koichi, and Okuyasu end up watching a Christmas movie.

Work Text:

“Maaan, I’m in such a Christmassy mood right now,” Okuyasu muttered.

“Do you wanna do something Christmassy?” Josuke asked, not looking up from his phone as he leaned against his boyfriend.

“What should we do?” Koichi asked, drumming a finger against his chin.

“Hm...we already put up the tree, decorated the house, went ice skating, kissed under the mistletoe...” Josuke mumbled, listing off the holiday-themed activities the trio had already completed.

“I know something we haven’t done yet!” Okuyasu sat up, an invisible light bulb flicking on above his head.

“Hm?”

“We haven’t watched any Christmas movies yet!” Okuyasu told him.

“Now that you mention it, you’re right!” Josuke’s eyes widened in shock. “How have we not done that yet?! Holiday movies are bangin’!”

Koichi nodded, grabbing the remote off the coffee table and flipping on the TV. Since it was already December in Morioh, many of the local channels were already playing Christmas movies and programs.

Flipping through the channels, the three of them managed to quickly find a channel playing some generic and cheesy holiday movies.

The three of them sat in awkward silence for several moments, watching the girl on screen awkwardly bump into the boy under the mistletoe.

“Why are all holiday movies so straight?” Koichi sighed.

“I dunno,” Josuke muttered.

“It’s really frustratin’,” Okuyasu agreed. “Where are the gay Christmas movies? We’re a completely untapped market!”

“Yeah. I dunno why everything has to be so straight,” Koichi mumbled, flipping the channel to something less straight; a cute animated version of the story about Rudolph the reindeer.

“I love this movie! You have such great taste, Koichi,” Josuke smiled, earning a blush from the other.

“C’mon, JoJo...”

“JoJo’s the smartest guy in Morioh, so you should trust him,” Okuyasu chirped.

Josuke blushed upon receiving the compliment, “You’re too nice, Oku.”

“This is my favorite part!” Koichi cried, waving his hands in an attempt to quiet his boyfriends.

“Oh shit,” Josuke whispered, playfully putting his hand over Okuyasu’s mouth.

The three of them watched as the scene where Rudolph got bullied by the other reindeer and eventually kicked out, being sent to the island of misfit toys.

As soon as the scene ended, Josuke and Koichi picked up on a quiet sniffling coming from the far side of the couch, where Okuyasu sat. The two turned to look their boyfriend, who was rubbing at his tear-filled eyes.

“Okuyasu?! Are you okay?” Josuke and Koichi said in unison, Koichi leaning against Josuke, who leaned over to place his hand on Okuyasu’s thigh.

“Maaan, this movie makes me cry! I always saw it as a metaphor for bein’ gay,” Okuyasu sobbed.

“Don’t cry.” Josuke rubbed his thigh, cooing softly.

“I can’t believe I’m cryin’ over a lil’ cartoon reindeer!” Okuyasu sniffed, wiping his face on his hoodie sleeve.

“It’s okay, Oku,” Koichi said softly, watching as Josuke kissed Okuyasu’s cheek. Climbing across Josuke’s lap, Koichi sat on his crying boyfriend’s leg, kissing him.

“Ko, I can’t see!” Okuyasu whined playfully, placing his hand atop Koichi’s head.

“Hey, I was trying to be nice!” Koichi huffed, his lips turned upwards.

“I know! I was jus’ jokin’!” Okuyasu told him.

“I know you were,” Koichi laughed in response, pressing another chaste kiss against his boyfriend’s lips.

“Guuuuuys, I’m trying to watch!” Josuke groaned.

“Okay, okay. Sorry,” Koichi smiled, taking his seat beside Josuke.

“It’s okay. I like seeing you two happy!” Josuke chirped, taking Okuyasu’s and Koichi’s hands in his own.

“Me too,” Koichi and Okuyasu agreed in unison.
