Work Text:

Things, strange at it was, had been rather normal since Toga's last visit. She had gone about her day just as any other and no one had mentioned anything out of the ordinary. Or course, that was just what was happening on the outside.

On the inside Tsuyu was destroying herself. She took pride in how blunt, how honest she was. If she were to keep this up she had to admit she felt...something for Toga. Whether completely romantic or just platonic that much was clear. If she didn't she wouldn't have let Toga get away with so much. She had to confront her, to make a point, to clear the air but...how? She couldn't exactly call her up.

"Tsu?" Ochako asked, concerned, "are you okay?"

Ah, yes. She was at breakfast with her friends. She best respond, huh?

"I'm fine, just thinking about some homework I need to finish," Tsuyu is surprised at how easily the lie rolls off her tongue.

"Wah!" Ashido slammed her head into the table. "I feel ya,' Aizawa has no mercy!"

Hagakure put a hand on her friends back. At least that's what it seemed like, "I know, babe."

Uraraka didn't seemed convinced, but dropped the subject anyway.

"Um, so, are we all going to the mall today?" Jiirou asked quietly, twirling ear jack around her finger.

"Of course! I promised we'd go look at guitars together," Momo chirped to which Jirou turned pink.

"Um, actually," Tsuyu started, "I...I'll just be heading to the park today. I just want to relax by myself a while."

"Are you sure?" Uraraka asked. Ugh, she knew her too well. "This isn't about...you know?"

The training camp, "No, I'm fine, Ochako. But, I should get going."

Tsuyu had explained her first meeting with Toga after the camp, and Uraraka had been nothing but understanding. It made lying to her now feel wrong.

The rest of the girls waved goodbye to her as she got ready to go. She was lucky it was a weekend, since she wasn't completely lying about having a lot of work to do. the day off was a heavenly thing. Of course, she had to spend in worrying about Toga but that's besides the point.

Ugh, she had to stop by the room and get her purse. Tsuyu got to her room, only to see a crisp white paper atop her night stand.

The letter read a simple: Meet me at the beginning.

It was unmistakable who sent the letter. The beginning?

Tsuyu felt sick as it dawned on her. The cafe. She shouldn't go. Like, that sounded like an awful idea.

In spite of what a bad idea it was, Tsuyu found her feet taking her on that familiar path. Loitering in front of the coffee shop was a figure in a raincoat. Their face may not have been clear, but Tsuyu had no doubt of who it was.

"Toga."

Toga grinned, sticking her tongue out, "Bum-bum! How are you doin' Tsu?"

Tsuyu grabbed the other girl's wrist. She didn't have time for small talk, "C'mon. We need to go."

"Ooh! So forceful!" Toga giggled, "Yeah, baby!"

Why oh, why did she do this to herself?

"I'm glad you got my note," Toga mused, as Tsuyu pulled her onto a park bench.

However, Tsuyu was not in the mood at all.

"We need to talk about this, ribbit."

"This? Why what do you mean?" Toga asked coyly.

She wasn't taking this seriously. To her, it was all a game. She had to get her to pay attention.

"Look Toga," Tsuyu sighed. She couldn't believe she was actually doing this, "If you focus, then you can drink my blood when we're done."

Toga looked confused for a second, before her face split into a grin, "All right. Then lets talk."

She then gingerly laced her fingers with Tsuyu's. She still didn't seem to be taking the situation seriously, but at least she was listening.

"If we are going to be," Tsuyu paused, "seeing each other, then we need some ground rules."

Th other girl nodded absently, studying and tracing Tsuyu's palm.

"Okay, um, so rule one: you can't keep just kissing and hugging me."

"But why?" Toga started whining.

"You need to ask my permission before you do those things. we're not dating yet, so I may be uncomfortable."

"Huh?"

"You need to get my consent."

"Consent...?"

"Yes?"

Toga looked as though she was having a revelation, "I never thought about it that way..."

"Well, that's what we need to do. Rule two: no hurting people. Not while I'm around. That means, no stabbing, cutting or bruising unless you're threatened. Besides that, things should be fine."

The blonde chuckled, grinning at Tsuyu, "We're overlooking a huge elephant in the room, Tsu. Strange, you're usually so very blunt."

"I    "

"I'm not a good person you know. I'm a villain. What oh what do you plan to do?"

Tsuyu felt her blood run cold. She had been avoiding that hadn't she?

"I...lets not be a hero and a villain. For now, can we just be two girls? We can meet every week and I'll tell you in advance if I have plans."

"Eh, works for me," surprising easily, Toga nodded along.

"Oh, well, um, okay. now, lets go find somewhere private so we can get your whole blood thing over and done."

Toga's eyes widen, "Huh, I didn't think you meant that. But, since you do..."

Tsuyu stumbled, as the other girl grabbed her hand, clearly looking for something. Her eyes lit up as she spotted a flower cart.

Toga grinned at the old man running the cart, "Hiya! Give me a pretty pink rose or I'll stab you!"

Before Tsuyu could amend Toga's words, this guy , he just plucked a flower and handed it to Toga, not blinking an eye as she flashed her knife while she paid him. It was the saddest thing she had ever seen.

"Ta-da!" her date cheered. "It's pink, which means I admire you!"

Tsuyu couldn't help the smile brought her lips, "Thanks, ribbit. but, you really didn't    "

"Tsu is a queen so I'm courting her!" Toga declared, somehow not embarrassed. Maybe that was her quirk.

"Um, yeah."

It was with that with which Tsuyu dragged her companion away to a more private area of the park. She hadn't been expecting it to be that humiliating, nor to draw that much attention to themselves.

"Ooh, are we going now," Toga asked.

"How can you do that? You're going to get recognized!" Tsuyu hated how blase the girl was.

Toga giggled, pushing Tsuyu against a tree, "What? It seems Tsu is worried for me."

"Well maybe I was."

"It was getting me excited."

"Is it really so easy to do that to you?"

"Tsu always gets me excited."

Dear God, was this flirting?

Toga huffed a warm breath onto Tsuyu's neck, dragging her teeth along it.

Tsuyu couldn't help but to gasp when toga bit down, breaking skin. As Toga began to suck the blood she grabbed on the her partner's hand. Said partner took the time to observe things about Toga. she had a habit of humming it seemed. Every time she got a large amount of blood out she would do it, showing her satisfaction. It was enough to make the other girl quiver. Tsuyu rested her had on the back of Toga's neck. Toga once more hummed.

Apparently having her fill, Toga pulled away resting her head in the crook of the other girl's neck. She then looked up to face Tsuyu, "can I kiss you?"

Tsuyu was still breathless and couldn't find it in herself to speak, instead giving a small nod.

Toga then kissed her. It as strangely short and chaste, considering just how intense they had been before. Yet, it was an all new kind of nice. Tsuyu wrapped her arms around Toga. Something in her heart had been filled. For once, she didn't feel so alone.

Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.

...

"I can see your knife, ribbit."

"Wah? No you can't!"

"Stop trying to stab me!"

"But I wanna' see tsu all bruised!"
