Summary
A month after the Avatar's return, Kyoshi Island receives a mysterious visitor. He is Colonel Harry Bedford of the 82nd Airborne Division, and he's come to seal an alliance.
Bedford represents a military force stranded in an alien land, a world where people can manipulate the elements, a world torn apart by a brutal war of conquest which is entering its final, decisive months.
The only way home for the newly-formed Allied Expeditionary Unit is a return to battle. They must bring down the Fire Nation, end a century-long conflict, and restore balance to this world.
