Work Text:

On their way back home from visiting Mr Wright (Sebastian still can’t believe he got disbarred) Kay, Klavier and Sebastian sit close together on the train. Sebastian sits in the middle, anxious about sitting next to strangers, and, thankfully, he doesn’t get any strange looks for tapping his feet against the floor and rubbing his gloved hands together. Kay fiddles with Little Thief (what is she doing?), and Klavier puts his arm across the back of the seats, muffling a yawn with his hand. All in all, they’re exhausted and quite sad to see Mr Wright not wearing his attorney’s badge or even smart clothes, and seeing what happened to Mr Edgeworth’s best friend kind of makes Sebastian want to cry.

Thankfully, his boyfriend and girlfriend must have sensed his worry, because they begin to speak.

“Where do you want to go for dinner tonight, Sebastian?” Klavier asks, flashing him a sparkling grin.

“Oh, I… I don’t really mind,” Sebastian mumbles. “Sorry, I just keep thinking about…”

“No, we get it, Seb,” Kay says, resting her head on his shoulder. “It’s pretty depressing. But… isn’t Trucy totally adorable?”

That brings a smile to Sebastian’s face. Indeed, Mr Wright’s recently-adopted daughter is incredibly adorable. “Yeah, she is.”

“You were really good with her, Kay,” Klavier says. “Like a childminder or something. I think she really likes you too. Probably looks up to you like a big sister. Or a mom.”

“Excuse me?” Kay says, shooting him a glare. “I’m eighteen, Klav.”

Klavier chuckles and reaches past Sebastian to kiss her cheek.

“But, you know…” Sebastian mumbles, blushing slightly. “Kay, you, really, you’d be a great mom.”

Kay goes even redder and stares at him for a moment, whilst Klavier grins and nods. And then Kay gives him a kiss. “Thanks, Seb.”
